From The Mirror:

Sir Alan Sugar has signed a six-figure deal to present a new junior Apprentice show.
The programme for 10 contenders aged 16-17 will begin filming later this year and be screened in 2010.
But Sir Alan will ditch his trademark "You're Fired" catchphrase in case it upsets the youngsters. Sir Alan, 62, said: "A junior format would be exactly the same. But one would have to be very cautious and sympathetic in the way one spoke to them.
"We have to be conscious of not doing anything that could scar a young person."
Five boys and five girls will take part in tasks set by Sir Alan. But instead of landing a job with him, the teenage winner will get a prize "tailored to his or her individual career prospects" and worth up to £25,000.
It is thought that will include paying for training, mentoring or could even help in launching a product or small business. Sir Alan, who left school at 16 and set up his own business, added: "We should be doing more to promote enterprise among young people.
Understandably, the contestants won't have any previous business experience but all I want to see from them is an entrepreneurial aptitude and an enthusiasm to succeed."
Sir Alan has negotiated a new oneyear deal with the BBC but will donate all his fee to charity.
Apply to take part in the show at www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice (http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice)

Seems interesting, anyone here interested? :P

They're 16/17, not 6/7 :S Most of them have probably had babies, they aren't going to be any more scared :P

Sounds like an interesting show anyway, they may do a better job than the sorry lot in the current competition :P

Not saying it's not worth applying, but the ones likely to be picked will most likely have their own business set up, are a budding entrepreneur or are extremely clever.

Not really look at the people on the show now and their full adults and tbh their not the smartest people around.. At all.

They have all their bull**** certificates and stuff but that don't mean anything if you don't have any common sence.

They also look at how entertaining people are, and pick various people with various personalities. A nice person, a whinger, a annoying idiot, ME ME ME person, ITS MY WAY OR THE HIGH WAY person.

Yeah, they're not stupid. There will be a variety of people to ensure the show is entertaining.

everyone is different; some people react bad to criticism but at 16/17 and going in for the apprentice you should know what to expect

So true. I haven't forgiven this years lot for selling those antiques for stupidly low prices, not doing research in their target markets and thinking they need to sell to win, when (in the case of the antique selling challenge), they could of just not sold some items and not made a loss huge loss.

I know lmao! It don't take much working out does it he even said "Their are some jems in their" so the first thing you would do is get everything valued and even worse one did (Noorul) and (Ben) and they sold it for £50 perfectly knowing it was worth £150.

I sometime think some people who are actually 16-17 could give these people a good run for their money.

Don't forget one of them trained at Sandhurst!!!! LMAO

Wish i was 16 - would love to apple for this - and i would like to be involved in business one day.

-=-=-

Anyway you will scar them much more by chucknig them off first round than saying 'You're Fired'

What kind of photo should it be? Myself looking smart? Or a "mug-shot" photo, where it is just my face.

I think they should have opened it to a wider range group, because 16/17 is a bit tight
