Just a random clean design. If it were coded then it would obviously expand down, it wouldn't actually be that small.

It looks quite allright. Too light colors maybe?

Best bet is to put the latest news on the right, see as you read from left to right, therefore you want the main content on the left.

That's a real nice design and I think the logo could change. Also why does it have to be coded in flash? I'm sure it can be coded in regular CSS/XHTML

He meant that he doesn't know how to code it in html/css. I think.

Thanks, thats the kind of idea I was going for, smooth yet quite eye catching. It focuses your attention around the banner which would obviously display the product.
