You can download the standalone from the MS site, or get it through Windows update.

THANK THE HEAVENS. A much needed and appreciated update.

Though I doubt this will make Vista not suck :(

Though I doubt this will make Vista not suck :( We don't need your none-constructive tripe, I mean how does your post help anything? It doesn't.

I find you annoying at the best of times but there's absolutely no need for you to start joining in Vista threads when everyone knows your hatred for the OS, you're just looking for trouble.

SP2 doesn't seem to of had much publicity tbh, especially compared to SP1 which there was quite a bit of hype for. Downloading it atm.

There were reports of people recovering up to 80GB of space, it runs some kind of cleanup utility from what i've read.

I installed it about a week ago and I don't know whether or not its me, but my PC seems to run a lot smoother now with less crashes.

Do you have to have SP1 installed to install this?

After having microsoft fumble around with my computer they still couldn't get it to install SP1 so you know...

I believe you need to have all available important updates (including SP1) installed to install SP2 :)

I installed it ages ago, it does make quite a difference :D All it did that was annoying was re-set my speakers to the built-in ones rather than the Creative Soundcard, but all you have to do is set them to default. Easy.

I installed SP2 earlia today and so far the ONLY difference I have found is that my speakers have become much quieter... Thanks Microsoft (Y)
