I have dual booted Windows Vista and 7 so I use both. I got an email from Microsoft saying that in june my version of Windows 7 will expire, making my computer shut down every 2 hours.

So now I want to uninstall Windows 7 and just use Vista.

Can I just delete all the files on the windows 7 partition?

Yeah just delete the parition, but remember to take any important files off.

If your dual booted with XP you will need to repair your boot up by putting in your XP disc and reparing via that. If your on Vista then it should be fine just deleting.

i'm not sure, i've just installed windows 7 but i've just checked it again and it says that it will expire in june 2010, not this year, so you don't have to worry? :)

yeah, it says this; The RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Starting on March 1, 2010, your PC will begin shutting down every two hours.

don't get deleting your partition. ;)

btw, don't you think 7 is just amazing compared to Vista? ;/

i don't have the RC version I have the beta, I never really use it anyway that's why I wanted to just delete it rather than update it :)

Yeah must say 7 is awesome. The only reason I don't use it at the moment is because the taskbar looks kinda rubbish with some Application icons and for some reason things like that annoying and for those who have two monitors or even more you have ALL your damned applications on the same taskbar which can be alot when you have 2 monitors and have some spread accross where as currently vista you can install stuff like Ultramon and have two taskbars but hopefully something like that or similar will come to 7.

Looks amazing though and runs nice and smooth so no complaints so far :P

Btw:

"We said the Beta would start shutting down every two hours on June 1, 2009. The correct date is July 1, 2009."

Fail. :P

Boot into Vista and get rid of the partiton. Change the bootloader as well maybe.

I don't think you have to change the boot loader? as Vista and Seven use the same one?

I tried deleting the files but it wont delete some, then I thought of formating the partition, but it said some of the files were in use?

What should I do?

Delete the partition in partition manager. (in vista right click computer>manager>disk management)

Or if you don't want to loose the partition yes you could format it and you would loose everything on that partition.

Just make sure you don't format/delete the partition that your MAIN OS is on.
