View Full Version : Sensational Moderation
Every thread that I browse, I see loads of active moderating. Any post that is unacceptable is always dealt with in minutes. It would be wrong to not show the Moderation team our appreciation for the fantastic job that they are doing. :eusa_clap

It's funny that you should mention that because I reported a post a few days ago and later on that day when I happened to stumble across the thread again, it was dealt with. :)

Then the user should report the warning/infraction so it can be dealt with.
But yeah, cheers & I do think moderation has stepped up a notch and is much better.

lol is this a joke?
There may be a strong presence but the quality of the moderation has seen better days.

The whole forum team seems to be doing good jobs lately, I am sure the other teams are too (but I don't tend to pay much attention to anything else :P). The forum management team seem to be pretty decent too, a nice breath of fresh, a first for a couple of years :D There are of course some negative factors, there always are, but they're usually cleaned up or let to repeat themselves if things were getting out of hand.

Why? Sounds like you actually can't find a justification to say such a thing.
I think the moderation has really improved. Really, hiring me was the best thing ever.

I was waiting for some smart arse to say something like that - no, actually. I don't see you confronting posts that are in favour of this thread so I see no need why my post needs confronting or that my opinion needs justifying.

I would love to hear any good or bad comments about the Moderation Department to be honest. If you don't want to post it, you can happily PM me.

But if you don't actually tell us why you think its bad then we won't know how we can improve, so its really like slashing your own tires. You think its bad but you aren't going to tell us why so we can't do anything about it. In that case if you continue to feel its bad you only have yourself to blame for being so stubborn about giving us reasons :P

Because those that are in favour of the thread are of my opinion, thus when someone raises a point that is against my opinion, I chose to challenge it .

When you say something, you're usually asked to back it up if someone disagrees. If you throw out statements like that its pretty difficult for other people to accept your arguments :P
If you intention was not to cause disruption by confrontation, you've probably disrupted the thread just by posting your disagreement so there are two options, one leave the thread and hold your opinion, or two air your opinion with backing :P You've done neither at this point adam :P

I was just saying I disagree with the statement made and then some idiot tries and provokes argument. Surely if I wanted to expand on my opinions I would've done so in my original post - why he couldn't grasp that I really don't know. My original post could've been left alone. If I wanted to improve the moderation or suggest ideas for imporvement then I'd post them? I content with the way it's moderated because no matter what ideas I pass along they'll be disregarded because I'm not a majority. THUS my reasons for not expanding on my original post.

While I understand your point, your post is then meant to be a free standing post and you wished for it not to be discussed. If its not meant to be discussed, it is pointless:
A11. Do not post pointlessly – A pointless post has no relevance to the topic, any previous post or is meaningless (ghnrgher etc). A pointless thread either has no meaning, is something posted that is not true (e.g. false story in news and rumours) or a thread that doesn't prompt a discussion (eg. post the colour of socks you're wearing).
Admittedly it says thread, that is a mistake on our part, but if you make a post in a thread then you should be expecting feedback on it. If you don't elaborate, then your post is not constructive. You are by no means required to justify having an opinion, however if you make your opinion public you are absolutely obligated to explain it.

In which case every post agreeing with the OP's original statement is classed as pointless in your eyes as it CANNOT prompt discussion - merely agreeing and therefore it shows that you're only in favour of positive opinions on these matters and therefore disregard those that oppose it. I understand what you're saying but if someone can 'legally' post "I agree" then I can't understand why someone cannot 'legally' post "I disagree" without being obliged to provide examples and expand on their point. That's the last post I make in this thread because I don't want to not prompt discussion and all that

No, because every post agreeing with the OP is open to challenging, as you yourself did. You asserted that your post should be left alone and not challenged. THAT is why your post would be considered pointless. Nobody told you that you shouldn't say you disagree and just leave them to be positive.
People who post "I agree" can be challenged, just that they weren't.
Thanks for the appreciation guys :D. I've been away but I am back in action now!

In which case there is no such thing as a pointless post as every post containing "asdlnsakjndas" can be challenged such replies as "Why did you post that?" prompts discussion in the thread. Brilliant workaround I have to admit.

So well done to Matt, Garion and the team for the great job :)
