I think it's a bit of both but mostly staged. Spencer's comment on I'm a Celeb USA the other day "the first time you've cried on television that wasn't fake". Also the fact that Heidi always says on her twitter, "Going to film for The Hills" is even more convincing. Plus the producers forcing Spencer to apologise to LC or whatever. Some bits must be real though and not sensationalised for the programme.

Only time i watched it was on hogan knows best, and it was like 10 seconds, i think it sucks, and if its got arrogant cast like spencer in it, then i cant watch it
