Just signed up and awaiting the email.

Apparantly it's a bug that they've not got round to fixing yet?

I've heard that one, but i've also heard its going to expire in September or in 2010, No one is sure, but I just got an XP Tablet 2005 key for my UMPC, WHS and Office 2007, might try out Windows Server 2008 too.

I like the way the Office 2007 Ultimate ISO is as big as the XP one. Also, you should use IE to navigate around it, their download system isn't FF friendly.

Where do you get the keys? I'm struggling to navigate their website.

Edit: I think it's because I have to wait for a second email?

In the sidebar find what you want, click it, then in the middle find the exact thing and "Get Key", or you can get your keys from the "Product Keys" tab at the top of the page.

After the first year all subsequent years are a slightly cheaper price. I hope they do carry it on for W7 release. Free genuine copies FTW lol.

At the moment with the amount of people signing up they have got a problem. You can download the programs fine but when you go to make a key it will give you a error but the woman on the live support did say that it will be fixed usually within two days. She said she will email me when it has been fixed so when I get the email I will post on here.

It was a survey

http://surveys.rddfs.com/IntWeb.dll/online/WEB4/090668/&urlimport=1&questlist=T;T2;G;&T=1&T2=2&G=1

doesn't work anymore but when people completed it it gave them instructions on how to get a free technet plus direct subscription for a year, then people got the link and have been getting it free and now almost every forum knows about it and posted about it so microsoft are going to find out and cancel everyones subscriptions, thats if they can because theres so many people who have got it free

Anyone getting the key error when you click to get a key for something, check top right corner above the downloads, it shows an error saying "System slowness or access is being investigated."

I also heard microsoft have made it so the subscription ends at the end of september, if that is true its lucky because the rtm will be out before that (y)

Stefy09

I don't think they have caught on lol, look on the overclock.net thread, someone said people who have paid are getting problems too so it must be server problems

Actually now I don't know whats happening, people are saying all free subscriptions have been cancelled and others say they are just fixing the download problems people are having OR both because lots of the technet pages wont load for me

According to a few people who have called microsoft, they say its still server problems and anyone whose subscription has gone will get it back soon. If you try adding your subscription access key thing again, it doesn't say its invalid so they can't of cancelled it can they?

Flisker
03-06-2009, 10:35 PM

The subscription is for 1 years free technet plus, they changed it to run out in september because people got the link to get it free, some people have got their subscriptions back (look on the overclock thread) and people have called microsoft and they said that all accounts will be up again in 2-3 business days, so tbh I'm going to believe microsoft for a few days, so either they are telling the truth or they have lied to people which I think is totally unacceptable, even if we weren't supposed to get the subscription.

you weren't supposed to get it. It was a leaked URL.

Read the end of my post, I know that. I'm just saying that lots of people have called microsoft and they have said to them that their account will be back again in 2-3 days so meh, either microsoft lied or the people lied so I'm going to email them and ask. Not saying that that site is wrong, microsoft probably decided that, but if people did get told saying their account will be back then I think its wrong for them to lie, if they didn't know what they was going to do about it, then they should of said so

There's something funny going on, that is true. Some accounts are being reactivated - perhaps due to consumer laws in the UK etc etc.

Yes, by default microsoft means they're making a hash of it.

Now to stop your silly prejucides, I honestly don't think they expected to get up this morning and find thousands of accounts essentially stealing products.

It was a leaked url by someone who took the survey months ago, and now microsoft has to tread around laws in several countries to stop their products being given away.
