View Full Version : Which browser do you use and why?

I downloaded Opera 10 beta earlier and thought about how I've almost exclusively used Opera for about 3 years now for no real reason. It doesn't seem to be all that fast (by no means IE slow, but on the same level as firefox) and there are no addons or anything, I just love the speed dial and the only other browser with that is safari (chrome has something similar but the sites are chosen automatically as far as I know).

Which browser are you addicted to?

omgDAN!

Google Chrome. It's really fast and I can search straight from the address bar. It also makes the most of my screen space as it doesn't have large pointless icons, leaves more room for the webpages.

Google Chrome - Purely because its lightweight and fast.

Firefox - for the features.
+ with 3.5 it may start catching up with safari or even crome in terms of speedyness.

Firefox, I've become to depend on 3/4 extensions. So much that I just can't switch.

google chrome for the reasons stated above - fast and not cluttered with un-needed icons/toolbars/addons etc :)

Firefox due to the fact it has Firebug which to me personally is still the easiest and fastest to use developer tool on any web browser. If Safari, Opera or Chrome had an identical Firebug add-on then I'd consider moving. So far though their inbuilt developer tools just don't float my boat.

New speed dial, new theme, some turbo mode thing that makes the net faster on slow connections by doing all the processing on their servers and sending you the results (very oversimplified, don't quote me!), you can drag the tab bar so its bigger and you can see a preview of the site rather than just the name, other bits and pieces but that's what I've found so far.

I use chrome, only thing that's wrong with it is it's quite slow opening links that are sent to you through msn or whatever else otherwise it's still better than FF and def IE

FireFox, I can get themes, bookmarks etc :) Surely a browser can't be 'faster' than another browser? It's down to your internet speed really.

No it really can Skepta, FireFox is just a gloat with a pretty face, although I may now try FireFox 3.5 and to see if it's any better/faster than previous versions.

Been using Chrome since it was first released in beta stages, never gone back to FireFox, only use it if I have to, e.g. If I have a saved password on their and not on Chrome.

I use IE. It does the job fine for me, I don't see why everyone has such an aversion to it. I'm not very technical though so maybe I'm missing something here lol
I use Firefox occasionally though.

If you Google "browser speed comparison" or similar you'll see that IE is 10 times slower than firefox in some tests. There are also pretty frequent stories about major security holes in it. I have it switched off now, I can't stand the thing.

Download chrome and use it for a few hours, then you'll see the difference :)
