.. who I really like but im not sure if she likes me. She's in the year below me at school and shes a really nice person. We are friends I suppose and we talk to each other and say hi everytime we see one another. Im not sure what to do as she has just broke up with her boyfriend but im not sure if she likes me

Talk to her on facebook or msn, if that goes well then talk to her in person.
Do not ask her friends, they'll spread it around and make you look silly (trust me, I know). Be very careful though, do things slowly and subtly like scott said, because she has just broken up with her b/f after all.
Compliment her occasionally, tell her her hair looks nice or something.
Try hinting? It doesn't work on guys but it's very good on girls.
Finally if you have a lot of guts send her a love letter / card / poem (Girls absolutely LOVE this =D)
