Well a friend and me need to open a bank account. We've both just turned 16 and need an account for EMA and for a new job etc.
It's just we both don't have the slightest idea on where to start. I've researched online but it just blinds me with all the technical stuff which confuses me and I cannot tell if it's a good deal or not.
Does anyone have any tips and recommendations on where to start, what's a good deal or not and any certain banks that are good with students?
+Rep for helpful replies.

You also probably need proof of your self to register an account to prevent fraud.
Just to let you know. :D

Basically it doesnt matter what bank you go with since your 16 you'll oprobably only getting a basic one, where theres no voerdraft and its simple. Whatever you got in, you can take out.
Therefore jsut walk into bank of choice, tell them you want to set up an account for ema, theyll do the rest.
I'm with HSBC and theyre pretty decent. Nice online banking.

Alrighty but honestly just go into a Bank and ask, don't be frightened to strut in and demand help, it's their job and plus they get it all the time :D make them earn that wage of theirs!

Yeh seriously it is their job, they will be more than happy to help since they probably get comission for getting more customers.
