I know a lot of people have a variety of reasons for really wanting to excel in education so I was wondering what yours is? Or do you not have any motivation and don't really care?

Money. Hopefully with a good education I can get a job that pays well. However, saying that, nowadays, you don't need to be educated to get decent money.

LOL!
for me, it's the rewards that doing well brings, such as good job, lots of money etc

I guess I should have more motivation, my brothers haven't really done well and because I'm the last one I should really be trying to do better than them. Mum probably wouldn't notice so I don't even bother and even though that should make me try more to show her I still find everything hard n give up easily so I only really try my best for myself when I feel like it =/

What motivates me is a good successful future and not a crap job I won't enjoy.

My motivation is to get the hell out of devon (or the UK actually) and get a really well paid job, and try to enjoy my life as much as possible with the money I have, and hopefully if I had enough, try to impact other peoples lives as well.
Its truth <3

Now now :(
Mine is to do better than the rest of my family have. I will be the first generation of our family that has gone to University. I've been in a family that have had money troubles etc, I guess that's pretty normal but I don't want it to be the same for me and my family. I'm determined that I will give something back to my parents because money has always been tight yet I've never suffered and because of that I feel like they deserve so much more than they have.
A lot of my family have been in and out of prison with drug and drink related crime and I think if I can get a good education I will be able to steer clear and ensure my children (should I have any) have a happy and comfortable childhood.
Erm because if i don't you willl more the likely fail in later life. Also i like to beat people at things :eusa_whis

Money. Simple motivation for me you either want luxury's in life so you work hard to get an average job and enjoy luxury's or have a normal everyday one and live a great life (Don't want to put anyone down) and so on.
I defently want luxury's cause meh I have a spending habbit already and i'm only 17 but yeh long as I have a good job and earning a nice bit that's a good enough motivation for me.

Mm. Honestly, I try hard and try to succeed becuause in 10, 20 or 30 years time I dont want to be in the same position as my mother - Im trying everything i can to avoid turning into her.
Shes a bit overweight, so I try and stay my ideal weight
She skipped school a lot as a kid, so I stick in and try to get high attendance
She never went to college or uni, so I want to go to college and uni
She never really cared about education and never really understood anything about it. I care a great deal about my future and want a better career to have more money so i can afford the lifestyle i want, not just whack it all onto a credit card and realise, 10 years down the line, that i have to announce myself bankrupt.
I generally just cling onto the idea that one day i'll be a teacher with a comfortable income and job, a nice small house, no commitment to another person, and no kids.
I always come in for this welsh baccaloreutte thing now because my ho moved into my class :8

I just wouldn't like to recieve my results in August and see anything lower than a 'C'. If I get a 'D' then I'd be extremely disappointed as I know I haven't put any effort in what so ever.
Most of the time I cba too like going to revision and stuff. I'd rather just not turn up but then I think I've got the whole summer holidays to sit on my bum and do nothing so I just get up and go.
Yeah.

My main motivation was competition against my brother who's 6 years older. He was the freaking golden child.. graduated college as valedictorian with a 4.0, etc. etc. I ALWAYS had to beat him. I hated it so much when my mom would compare me and be like 'oh, good job, though you know your brother did better than you on blah blah blah". Anyway, so I always made an effort and got good grades and was involved in a ton of extracurriculars, and in the end i got accepted to a MUCH better uni than he went to. Haha, but now that I've basically beaten him out as the better kid, I've lost all motivation. Plus partying is a lot of fun :D
