ordering online

when buying items online, is there anywhere you can send it to be delivered so you can pick it up yourself?

i want to order something off the internet but if i get it sent to my house, my parents wont be too happy that im "wasting money".

i do it so its delivered on a day i am home, easier.
or like someone else said, get it delivered to your friends house.

and i was thinking about the post office but i think they have to sign for it or something. btw it weights like 3KG and its being delivered by parcel force, can they deliver it to a post office? :S

I guess a friend's or close relatives place would be the best idea. I'm not sure if you can choose to deliver to the post office.
