In a thread, or on a forum, it used to say 'Current users viewing this thread/forum' (or something on those lines) - has this been removed now?

May just be a move to slim down the forum a little, if memory serves the users viewing display is relatively resource intensive.

Bingo Bango! That's the reason why, we are shaving down our resource usage after I got my inbox spammed the crap out of by warning messages it may return it may not.

this feature uses a lot of processing time and memory in order to execute. By removing them we are running at a lower load speed which is actually better.

Blame vB, it's what I do. Surely a company like vB could slim it down a bit? It's no wonder IPB lead the way in terms of quality and what comes with the forum as standard. vB got quick reply and other features months/years/versions later than IPB :/

Duno the VB setup to well, but maybe offer it as an opt-in option on profile, then those who use the feature can just activate it for emselves, without the overhead of provideing it to all the users who never even glance at it.

+ IPB is more efficent thanks to a epic cacheing system, though converting a db the size of habbox's may give the habbox server a heart attack from which it may never recover :P
Plus i imagine a software change would be pain in terms of reinstalling all the mods and addons / confusing alot of members with minimal forum experince outside hxf "/

Habbox has always used vB, the staff that run the forum are experience in vB. I myself used to work with vB for a company back in Version 3.0.x, it will always stay as vB.

Converting a 3gb database into an IPB will most definately result in copious amounts of data loss, downtime, tears and frustration. I would probably suffer an anger stroke which I am not risking.

If we really want it back then its about time we cut down the number of forums we have.

Some of them VIP(+) sections don't really get used, getting rid of them would be a start?

Who said it was going to be a "Habbox should get an IPB forum" thread? It's true, you'd think vB would make their products hog a little less resources, especially for tiny things like who's viewing what.

VIP sections could probably be cut out anyway. The KKK (or whatever the little darlings call themselves :P) can stay, unless you want a forum based civil war.

Not really, it was a side discussion you get with thread - It happens alot. It wasn't even on its way to becoming a vB vs. IPB thread :P

As long as you don't touch the KKK you'll be fine. What other forums are in the graveyard? I can't see merging making much of a difference, it'll have to be forums which revolve around small, meaningless topics which you get within VIP forums. In theory, the Habbox News Bot and its forum is kinda useless, considering members post their own topics anyway and have kinda always opposed the bot since its creation. I'm guessing that loves hogging resources?

Old threads are extremely useful though :( People can find their original threads, old arguments and posts by old staff members. I don't think many people will be happy :P
Hence the archive where all this stuff could be stored, only difference is they may have to look in the archive copy rather than the live one :)

Chat was never a good idea and the only reason it exists (from what I remember) was because it was a one off payment so it might as well of been used, but it isn't so might as well ditch it. Arcade is a possibility, it's not that great if past arcade feedback is anything to go by. People will probably moan about it being removed but really won't care, some people are famous for complaining because of the novelty, rather than praticalities. Blogs I don't know.
