I've only seen Stalker, but I have Solyaris, Andrei Rublev and Ivan's Childhood.

I adored Stalker, the cinematography was undoubtably great and Tarkovsky built up the perfect atmosphere for the film. Not only that, but surprisingly, it had some brilliant Linklater-esque dialogue, and was rather quotable.

The Zone wants to be respected. Otherwise it will punish.

What about his other works, hum?

Stalker is most definitely my favourite. So different from the Hollywood 'lead you by the hands' films. My favourite scene is probably the 'Black Dog'.

One of my favourite scenes, or shots, is when the camera flies about two inches above a small water bank, for a good few minutes before we get to the hand of one of the characters.

I also loved the Writer's monologue. Strong film eh?

Very strong and he had the confidence for no dialogue for many minutes in the beginning ending with the shot from above the bed. The whole film is quite remarkable.

"Silence is the most powerful cry"

As I say, I'm a fan of ambience. That's why I love Antonioni.

Stalker is the only work of his I have seen I believe. It's a great film, some beautiful shots, DP did a great job. Reminds me of The Third Man.

It reminds you of The Third Man? Strange comparison indeed...

Not wholeheartedly. Just the Zone, it reminds me of the Vienna in The Third Man.
