Today i was out on my own, on a shopping retail park to buy a new jacket, i checked the label, and to my shock it was £59.89 not the £59.49 i thought it was, i looked through my change and all i had was enough to make £59.88, 1p short.
I went outside and on the bench was tied a Tescos carrier bag, i untied it and walk to the other end of the retail park, i went in tesco and went to the lovely woman at the front desk. I handed over the bag and got 1p.
Probably the only time anyone has ever done that deal, as stated on the bottom of the carrier bag
Anyone done this before? :P

Didn't know you could, quite a good idea on the company's part. I wonder if you could just take a load of bags when your packing your food then cash them in as you leave

Asking to be let off looks cheap, saying that i suppose trading a carrier bag in for 1p does aswell. :P

I don't think they'd be allowed to let anyone off of paying properly for something, even if it was only 1p.
stupid bloke in the garage wouldn't let me off with 8p on diesel, so I had to ask some complete stranger. good thinking on your behalf though :)

Thats like one of my biggest fears! I will fill the car with gas and my card will be maxed or it won't work and then what would I do? I pay at the pump now so I avoid that problem!

I don't think they do that here. But it'd be a good idea for hobo's so they can make money xD
