Specialist features for Joomla - integration?

I'm going to be setting up a site related to drumming using joomla, I'm just wondering how hard will it be to integrate certain features like a profile page where users can edit info about them, aswell as uploading songs and avatars. It'd obviously involve working with the mysql database, but im not sure how easy it would be to go about setting something like this up?
