I thought I would post a bit of a culmination of tech news surrounding Iran and the election and violence....
Google Speeds Up 'Farsi' (Iranian language) translator inlight of Iran election riots, other companies do similar: Full Link (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8108551.stm)
Search giant Google has stepped up work to release a tool that will translate Farsi into English and vice-versa.
The company told the BBC it was speeding up the project because of the huge interest in what was currently going on in Iran.
At the same time, the world's biggest social networking site, Facebook, is launching a Persian version.

Many different web activists such as The Pirate Bay & Anonymous have redirected as much of their efforts as possible to setting up proxies and ways to bypass Iranian blocks so that news can get out. Twitter is also being used as a major resource distribution method to keep people in Iran with internet and working proxys. Twitter has distanced itself from State Department revelations that it asked the company to delay maintenance so Iranians could continue to communicate.
Twitter is one of the main social networking tools being used by people inside the country to coordinate protests disputing the election result.
