It seems after the governments 'Digital Britain' report that PEGI will now be used on all video games in the UK. The situation was that BBFC (The film certificates) was the official UK Standard for game certificates and PEGI was a voluntary game certificate system.
BBFC will be phased out and PEGI is now the UK Standard. This should also mean that you can no longer trade in PEGI Games if you don't reach the games age (E.g. if you're 13 you can't trade in a 18 game, previously you could with PEGI because it was a voluntary system).
