Here is a really easy recipe to make a microwave cake, most people tend to make these in large mugs but I use a microwave bowl :)

4 Tbsp. of S.R Flour
3 Tbsp. of Sugar
2 Tbsp. of Milk
1 Tbsp. of Oil (Vegetable or Sunflour, nothing with a strong taste!)
1 Medium Egg

Ok, really simple. Put the dry ingredients in, then the wet ingredients. Mix all together, then add any flavourings (for example, Cocoa powder (3 to 4 Tbsp.) or Vanilla - Most recent one I made was Vanilla + Rasins)

Then you simply shove it in the microwave for 3-5 minutes, make sure its cooked all the way though by putting a knive into the centre and hope it comes out clean!

Pretty yummy and probably the best recipe I found for this kind of cake :)

I remember when I tried it using a different recipe and it was just a gooey mess that never rised but this one has always worked for me.

Another little tip, even once it has risen above the top keep the microwave going for a bit longer as it is normally no-where near cooked. You can normally smell the egg in the cake cooking which is a pretty good indicator if it is working or not haha.

Ill see if I can find my camera and take a photo of the one from last night.

I agree with kieran here, I've never heard of a cake being cooked in a microwave and I'll stick to the usual method of using an oven.
However, great find!

No water, just the ingredients in the first post.

Its only good after its out the microwave, it starts to get pretty dry after a little while. Apparently adding extra fine Apple Sauce keeps the cake moist without adding any flavour.

The idea of making a cake in the microwave is simply so you don't have to wait on the oven pre-heating and then waiting on it cooking, this takes around 5 minutes if you are in need of a cake haha :)

I did warn you haha! :) If its a little dry, you could try using some apple sauce, apparently works but I have never tried it myself.

what do they taste like?

Johno

They taste like cake really + whatever you put in, so if its just vanilla essence then it tastes like a vanilla cake :) No other way to describe it really.

Never forget to put an egg in this folks, i forgot 5 minutes ago and it melted my measuring jug, and yellow smoke was coming from it, the result was a pitch black mix and a part liquid mixing jug

That looks pretty good for a half ass effort :P

I would buy the one on the middle right.
