Just broke up

My first proper boyfriend broke up with me recently and I'm so upset and feel so worthless and unwanted and I've been crying so much. I've tried to keep myself busy, I went shopping today and out for dinner with friends but I just feel so sad and lonely. I miss him, I feel like I've lost my best friend as well as my boyfriend.

I'm convinced I'm never going to meet anyone else, I'm so crap at talking to guys, I don't really hang out with any men or meet any decent ones anywhere. I don't want to be alone.

How can I make it easier to get over my ex and feel better? How can I ever meet anyone else? I just feel so miserable :(

Well one thing is that you are definitely not worthless or unwanted. Unfortunately these things do happen in life and that's what makes us mature and able to cope better. I had a really bad year myself last year in one way or another. What you are going through is quite a natural thing and perhaps not the best time to try to 'pick yourself up' because you have to feel this way to be able to feel better.You will meet someone else - this happens to 99% of people and it will just be a matter of time. Talking to us is the first step because you are over the feeling of not wanting to tell anybody which is a good sign. :)

Awww Nat, that sucks. Firstly, like Rosie said you're not worthless - I know that much for sure. I heard you talk about your partner numerous times on HxF and Habbo and you seemed really happy with him. Sure, it'll take time to get over him but time does heal wounds. I have no doubt a nice looking girl like you will find someone else. It'll feel like there is nobody else out there for you but I'm sure there will be. It's not going to easy but I'm sure you'll be OK Nat.

Aye there's nothing like the first love, but I agree there's always more to go. You just have to remember that it won't feel like the last time, and that gets confusing but as long as you keep in mind that the next guy you find isn't a replacement of the old one (or shouldn't be!) but a completely new experience, things will be very different.

As for how to "get over" them, there's no real easy way but you've got the right idea being out and about keeping yourself busy - there is nothing worse than sitting alone indoors just feeling crap on your own.

Keep your head up, you said you don't know many guys but I had literally like three female friends when me and my first real gf broke up (she was realllllly possessive and I went to an all boy's school) but after moping about for a while thinking the same thoughts you're having I got back on top and done pretty well since, it just depends on how long you let yourself mourn

it will be hard but in time it will heal things. im sure loads of other guys want you but thats proberly the last thing on your mind atm. just give it time and when you feel down about it call a friend and talk to them for advice.

Surely there's loads of boys in Brighton. Get some girls together, go down to beach if you wanna meet boys. Because all my mates go up there etc.
