BETA Update thread.

Just as a slight example. As I was saying in one or two other threads, the BETA version remains to have a lot of bugs inside. Due to the fact, you can still pull sessionid out from the client source, and use it for 'evil practices/methods'. Anyways, here's some things I'll list.

Updates as of 09/06/09 (Release Unknown)


Pets move different ("TEST-PETS"), but are apparently only like that for BETA. Shame, they needed a change for pets! They will need to stay, left alone in the catalogue until another update.
They've developed animated icons, such as the icon for the catalogue. This will be nicer, and make the navigation more attractive. Pretty small, but nice at the same time.
There seems to be a new menu, which looks really nice. It gives it a more updated feel, and this update makes me feel like Habbo will be better - ok, not really, but it is nice!
Not sure if these are glitches or not, but you can grab a drink if you are sitting/standing at the side of a drink machine.
Trophy dialog boxes seem to just appear blue, like notices. But the external's seem to still be in the code for the .swf, so this is maybe just a bug - see, more and more silly things for BETA!
When you grab a drink and click yourself, or click someone else who is carrying a drink, the drink gets jumbled with your motto.
The floor is now part of the doorway, or so they say. This is most likely a bug, or just shading gone very badly wrong.
The walls are now shaded very badly, and some of the furniture still remains at failing it's job of not working.



Updates as of 15/06/09 (Release 34)


A new version of Habbo has been released with a few minor updates. (Linking would be against the rules, even though you can only view the hotel view and not have access).
Stickies work, you need to double click them to open. You can't change the color of them, or move them around like the old pop-up box. I hope to god this is sorted.
There is now a "Move" function on photo's. This is currently bugged! When you click, you get an error. Shame. I don't see how this feature is that much of an improvement though, to be fair.
The trophies have a small black outline around them, which is nothing too noticeable. When a lot of furniture is piled into one space, you find that the mouse keeps flickering.
If you enter a walled teleporter, you now error! How awesome is that! You're literally erroring due to the fact you're walking straight into a wall! Go Habbo!
Present's currently don't work, and are failing to load, along with photo's, even though when you actually click them, the image boxes are still appearing. Strange!
HabboHome buttons are failing to work on R34, for now. I'm sure they will definitely be fixed up though. This will just be some simple coding.

This thread will be updated when we have more information, and/or BETA is updated.

The client is now found to be encrypted better, which means it makes it harder for good scripting attempts.
New Poll is available for BETA testers - we may soon be able to make our own clothes, and we can vote for things to come back.
Camera's, Battleball, New Room Layouts like Public Spaces, New furni and tools for games, bring back Habbo Guides, Pets, Trax, loan furni, improved pets to follow you around the hotel and much more!

Glitches found in the Arctic Furni - not sure if this is part of just BETA glitching, or normal Habbo glitching.

I've been notified by inside sources that they are planning on releasing the BETA version later this month or early next month, depending on when they fix the current bugs. Please note, everything listed on this thread has been reported to Sulake.

I still think Habbo released BETA far to early. They should have got alot of the major bugs away before releasing it, but I guess they were only trying to meet a deadline.

Public rooms are now added to the beta client


You can now click on group badges/group badges now work



There is now a button on the side bar which allows you to return to your "home room" or if you have no home room set, it simply returns you to hotel view.

The home room idea isnt new, but the icon to go to ur home room (or hotel view, if u havent selected ur home room) is new

The staff isn't always red in beta it sometimes glitches by the looks of it one of its darker layers comes to the front.

People who say this aren't saying we can trade them now, but habbo are working on it, is this true?

If they do this, then I guess it would only be available for achievement badges.
Of course they wont do this for regular badges because what if someone gains access to a Habbo Staff's account, then they will trade the Habbo Staff badge and other badges to their account, which will be a very bad thing.

considering the whole point of achievements is to actually ACHIEVE them, it is quite obvious that this won't happen. As for trading staff badges, they could just restrict certain badges so that only certain ones are tradeable. Still think it's unlikely though.

It wouldn't happen. It would render them pointless. Ex X and Ex Hobba badges are there to recognize who helped the hotel, not who can afford to buy the badge.

I think the little blue bar is to show how many pixels the badge is worth. I doubt badge trading would happen..

Fixes/Updates:
* Fixed the "habbo is typing" speech bubble. It now disappears!
* They has got rid of the boxes on badges that are supposed to show numbers like the furni boxes do.
* I have now received my Grey Lab Rat Badge! :)
* They have also fixed the Call for Help, it had a big blue area under neath, which is when you view a page and back button appears in the space. But now it is fixed :)
* The boxes that tell you information on badges are transparent on the description :l.

I just noticed that on beta if you c+p something longer than the stickie limit it passes it and can scroll when dragged, but it still has a limit and goes around another half of a stickie down.

As for trading badges, are you having a giraffe???!!!

Chooser and Furni work on the AU BETA. Only issue is that they dont update (you have to reopen the list to see an updated version) and they close when you leave the room.

I also noticed that when I went on Beta and went to my room which has lots of stickies on the wall, there's an extra line available at the bottom of each one. Great in itself - but annoying when you want the stickies to be full and have to go over them all again.

trading badges? that sucks. if you should, i think you should only be allowed to transferr badges somehow to another account of yours. but if you could trade the ones like 24 months hc they'll be completely pointless?
