Ok this is a little hard to explain.

I have a built in microphone, and if I play a backing track I have and then sing, the quality is awful as the built in microphone is under the speakers so the music powers over my voice.

The thing is I need to be able to play the song out of the speakers and sing with it at the same time. I can't just sing and then, for example, upload the backing track behind it as I don't have the backing track to upload.

What I have been doing is putting headphones on and then singing, so I can hear what I am singing along to but the microphone can't. The trouble is that I then can't put the backing track to it if it is a backing track from Spotify etc, and then it sounds like I am singing along to nothing.

Any programs someone can suggest or tips apart from download the backing track 'cause the backing track is hard to find and download where as Spotify has a lot of the songs I want to sing to on there.

Thanks.

Use Audacity to record the backing track: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=4826

And then you can save it as a WMA or MP3 and use your headphones to sing along to it, put the voice clip into Audacity and then add the backing track.

Sorry for the double post can't edit.
When I use the input and output audio setting it sometimes blows my speakers, which results in me having to restart the computer.
Is there something I'm doing wrong or is my laptop not capable of meeting my demands?
