Umm I think the only way is that, just leave the patches downloading turn off your anti-virus & firewall and leave your computer for a while. It usually downloads quicker without a firewall and anti-virus running.
But yeah it is annoying the patches x_x
but i'd recommend putting the anti-virus and firewall back on when the patch has finished :P

Do you really have to make a new thread on the same topic?

Turn off your firewall or anti-virus while your doing it (turning the anti-virus off is risky though). See if you got enough memory (500mb is the minimum). Make sure your not running anything at the same time, i also think you can use a different downloader on the blizzard website called 'Blizzard Downloader'. My last patch took about 10 hours to download, i would give up on it, i had sort of the same problem but did it in the end :).

Why does downloading a patch and then electricity going off mean you have to download all the patches again.

Downloading means it's stored on your PC. You should've resumed the patch from where it left off by looking for the patcher in the wow folder?

Yeah I don't think the monkeys in the blizzard offices have realised that you can't resume the patch if you cancel it.

perhaps they should think about firing some and hiring some normal people.

Right I've downloaded the right patch but when I go to extract the file it says 'Windows is searching for wow patch.zip. To locate the file yourself, click Browse.'
But what do I have to locate and how do I extract it?

If you resume a patch, it picks up from where it left off, not instantly but pretty quickly. All the patches previously should also be done, so do not need to be done again.

Yes this is how it works for me.
