Perhaps we could think about getting UploadPicz site Moderators of some sort? I am not aware of how it works as my speciality is obviously the Forum but if it is a possibility it might be worth it in situations like this!

and if they put a verification system in place they'd lose ALOT of clients so

i'd just remove gallery/ability to view others images

or maybe a report button, which when clicked would +1 and maybe if it got like 3 reports the image would be moved to a different section which wasn't accessable until mods could check it and see if it was inappropriate, at which point they'd remove, or if it wasn't put it back to public.

Going by that its quite a bit more than the gallery than needs to be removed. Hosting such images is a serious offence and could quite easily land some people a serious amount of jail time if its true.

I just browsed to the site, and dear god this sort of thing should not be allowed on the Internet. Habbox needs to sort this out pretty danm urgently as the content of even the first gallery page is absolutely shocking. I'm surprised the police haven't already shut it down and arrested the owners of both the hosting company and whoever name is on the bills O.O

Yeah. Probably should get a couple people from the forum to 'Moderate' the site and remove any images as such which are inappropriate wouldn't mind doing it myself if they needed someone to do it.

The site really should not be live. It should be taken down temporarly, cleaned up, and a good few uploader's IP's reported to the police.

On that note, im suprised the police arn't involved already concidering the content.

An idea:
Shut the website down temporarily and get the majority of the indecent pictures removed.
Get a system in which accounts can be given "moderator" permissions in which to delete pictures.
Get a flagging system for members who use uploadpicz to report innapropriate pictures.
Get a system which logs the IP's of uploader and in which somehow to block the ip of uploading any other pictures or creating accounts.
Put site back up for a trial period and see how it goes.

True. I just see some of the replies a bit OTT. It won't be the first time or the first site to have uploaded images of that. He should of realised used his own hosting to make it more "secret" xD.

Regardless other sites wont have gallery with underage porn posted all over it etc, and they'll be removed, thsi threads been here fo rabout 2 days or something and still nothing been done. the images are also public for any one to view.

Yes. Whoever has access to uploadpicz should disable it temporarily. Habbox are distributing child pornography over the internet. Lots of trouble to be got in there.

Just an update for everyone: Nvr is aware of the situation, due to a few complications wasn't able to do stuff, luckily I whipped out my phone and texted Jin, he gave us some tidbits and nvr should be able to sort it out as soon as possible. Sorry for the delay but the unexpected setbacks obviously didn't help. This should be sorted very soon and we can assure you that we do take this with utmost seriousness as we would never condone such things.

Yeah we do know how serious it is, and we are trying our best to solve it. Unfortunately we can't magic ourselves the correct powers to do so, and it's unfortunate it has happened alongside a series of complications and people being away. As we have previously stated we are taking this seriously, we aren't sitting back and doing nothing and we are doing all we can.

As ive already suggested, a simple flagging system can stop this as by the looks of it, members go through the gallery. Reporting any innapropriate pictures and having them deleted if breaking terms, will resolve the problem.

Hello hello,

Ok an explanation is in order. Sorry for taking so long, my explanation got delete the first time by way of back button. WOOT! So here we go. First of all, yes I did see this thread the day it was made, and I made a conscious decision not to reply to it.

After the incident with the iStealer many many Habbox passwords were change to ensure that everything was locked down, and since we had changed so much, we started early on one of our Habboxwide password changes for security purposes. Due to a slight miscommunication, I did not recieve the new UP cpanel PW or the PW that would let me CHANGE the UP Cpanel PW. Don't worry, I checked, EVERYTHING else works. JUST those two didn't work.

Jin was the only other person with those passwords, and he went away from a week, beginning Monday. Oops. We finally got through to him today and got the information through a text message at which point we began deleting the offensive images. However I had submitted a request for the suspension of UploadPicz only (which I have now rescinded) which seemed to be our only course of action given the circumstances.

Also, I do have administrative access on UploadPicz, however when the new system came out all account privileges reset and we didn't realize that. I have now given myself administrator privileges and several members of management have moderative privileges. We do have a system in place where you can report images (I just went through every abuse report and deleted three other pictures - by the way you pervs out there it wasn't only naked guys :P) and a system where those are checked. Usually Jin does the checking but in the next week we will check the abuse reports.

Please note, for anything that requires an explanation, its best to email [email protected], we will be adding information about that to the site shortly however I think the email is provided on the site already.

As for why I didn't say anything, I figured it was better not to admit that we couldn't take them down at present because if we did we would have had all sorts of immature kids going crazy and feeling powerful uploading inappropriate images because they could get away with it. So I pretended not to see this, sorry about that.

Feel free to start a new thread about problems that need to be addressed, things that can be done better etc. I am aware we messed up on this one, sorry, and steps have been made to rectify the situation. The reason I closed this thread was to alleviate confusion, I didn't want people reading only the first page or so and conversation getting derailed by people who thought that the images were still up. You can create a new thread if you wish to further discuss this but in the new thread people will know that it has been dealt with.
