View Full Version : Farewell

I've decided to leave these forums after nearly three years. I only visit here anyway to use the Movies forum, which had me posting in a few others, but now it has been merged with TV, I've been put off. It is not solely that reason though, I just feel out of place being older than most users of this forum, as some of the immaturity on display here is just totally overwhelming. Kids are kids, but some people are outright sickening. Take Michael Jackson's death as an example, sure, his name is a controversial subject if you're naive, and I accept that, but to see some users uttering jokes and images is, in my view, disgusting and thoughtless. Do they give a damn about the family and close friends? I've seen more than enough death for a lifetime, I was a forensic photographer for a period of six months; I've seen things I wouldn't wish anyone to see, including the faces of family members at the scenes of their loved ones' deaths. I'm sure people will whine at me for mentioning Michael Jackson, but that's just a recent example of some of the trash there is on this forum. It's truly disturbing. I'm not overreacting, I'm genuinely shocked at what comes out of some kids' fingertips.

For those of you who aren't senseless and thoughtless and have maturity in your youth, good for you. Really.

I also believe this place to be run in the complete opposite direction of where it should be, but I won't go into that. Regardless, the above are the main reasons for my leave, so I'll conclude by saying thanks to those who have given me meaningful discussion and conversation, and have supported my film projects, etc, over the last three years. I appreciate it.

If you'd like to keep up with me and/or my work, you can follow me on Twitter; the link is in my signature. You can also PM me if you'd like to share contact details.

Remember to check out Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious *******s on August 21.

Take care, and may your life enjoy fulfillment.

Adam

Chances are high im older than you, and i've been here quite a bit longer. You missed the good old days, and personally i think habbox is actually starting to get back on track compared to the middle period, so i disagree the forums going in the wrong direction.

Equally, yea people are joking about Michael Jackson's death, so what? Thousands of other people died today(or yesterday now) as well. The great majority of them likely being far nicer and generally better people than him, a great number of them were likely children. Thoughtless in my mind is what it takes to morn a celebrity death more than the rest, simply because you've heard of him. So i wouldn't be so quick to point the finger at those who use humour to lift the spirits of others, while defending those who are instead focused on moping and morning someone they never even knew.
But thats just me.

Good luck in whatever you plan to get up to next and bye :)

Yes, an uncomprable amount of men, women and children died today, I know that all too well. As I wrote above, Michael Jackon was merely an example. People making jokes out of deaths is unacceptable and in extremely poor taste. I find your post pretty contradictory. Oh well.

Blinger - Adam Stephen Kelly - I'll be on IMDb in the next month so you can keep up on there too.

Really, must be effects of not sleeping.

I don't see any reason death shouldn't be joke about in the same way as any other topic. Deaths as natural as anything else in this world ands not something i conciser offensive?
Simply because you have a different set of values and thus a different idea of what's an acceptable topic to joke about, does not deem those with a contrary opinion "immature". It simply means they have a different opinion. Which is the nuts and bolts of what i formally failed to put over.

Overreacting isn't in my vocabulary :) I'm a realist, and I've just had enough of this place. There's plenty more I could add to my original post, but I'll leave it as it is. Take care.

I've seen things so beautiful. I wouldn't wish anyone to see, including the faces of our family members.

Err what? You mean one of the chaps that didn't give a **** about your opinions on anything and convinced they're absolutely 100% right about everything.
"That movie is crap, watch this movie"
"I present reasonable argument on why I want to watch this movie over his move"
"I don't care, I'M a wannabe director, you should watch what I say to watch, amateur!"

Actually, I never said anything along those lines. I offered my opinions and defended them, like anyone who believes in what they say should. I don't pussyfoot around.

What did Magnetez comment? Is he up in arms just because he wrote a bad script?

Wrong, you forced your opinions upon others, not just offered them.

That's kinda sad if you ask me to bash someone in there farewell post. Admittedly I mostly just read posts on here and don't contribute, but I've known Adam for almost 2 yrs now and he's truly a great guy. He promoted my music endlessly for nothing in return just cuz he wanted to see me go far and wide. if people gave him the time of day to get to know him, they'd see a beautiful person, hes the nicest guy you could ever hope to talk to, seriously man. he's willing to help people no matter who they are to get further in what they wanna acomplish. peeps on here often misjudge him, but its nice to see that more people respect him than not.

Peace Adam, you'll be missed on here.
