15th July - 9th August

Home Premium is £49
Professional is £99.

Not bad for the EU, eh?

Since they are not allowed to sell the upgrade versions in the EU, they are offering the full retail product for what the upgrade version would have cost us.

I think I can see whoever made the point that Microsoft are clearly doing this to annoy the EU in some way or another :P I wouldn't know which one to order :S

I'm looking to get the professional version. I'll have to inspect what extra features are included to warrant an extra £50 though.

Well from what I can tell, Pro has XP Mode while Home Prem doesn't, so that maybe my reason to buy Professional :P Though, it doesn't seem alot to justify the extra £50 like you said.

Available worldwide, to OEMs and in retail
Includes all features of Premium
Adds enhanced networking capabilities (Remote Desktop host, domain support, offline folders, etc.)
Adds Mobility Center
Adds Presentation Mode

Not really impressed by that, although, I would like to see Microsoft produce one of those charts like they did with Vista. Just so we can get something official.

There are many different versions, but Home Premium and Professional are the only ones they're offering discounts for. Which is not so bad, considering they are both going to be the main versions that people will consider.

I think I'm going to preorder it.

based on people who have used the beta, does it use a lot of ram? and have a high usage percentage?
