I thought this was a really nice story, made me smile after such an awful day....

Stuck in a hot classroom on a sunny day, who hasn't dreamt of an ice cream?

For one day only, that dream came true for 400 lucky pupils at St Mary's Boys Primary School in Strabane, courtesy of retiring vice-principal Sean Callaghan.

A teacher at the school on Melmount Road for 40 years, Mr Callaghan hired an ice cream van and handed out 99s to make his goodbye to the students a memorable one.

Wow. I would of loved if our head teacher done that when I was in school on a boiling day. I bet he got some fans for doing that.

We have "free" ice-creams / ice lollies given to us on the final day of school each year. Advertised as free, but the rest of the kids don't understand that they paid £1 for non-uniform.. :P

I wonder if he was really a horrible teacher and was bribing off the students....

Bump much?

Explain.

Are you trying to say that I can't scroll through the past threads, and post if I have something to say?

What a legend, I'd love if my principal did that, she's retiring next year but I doubt it, she hates us all.
