I was just looking in the sports forum and its hard to tell who someone supports if they don't have it in there name or sig, sometimes you can work it out from their location, but maybe a 'Team Supported' option to fill out in about me, that shows only in the sports section (like the PSN and XBL in games forum).
??

I suggested this a little while ago but yeah I think it would be a welcome additional, particularly as most people never actually refer to football clubs in there just 'Man U' and 'My club'

I guess it is a good idea but if your going to have football then im pretty sure other people will want other sports too. Maybe a drop down of what sport then a text box for the team, however that limits you to one sport/team of choice. Meh im sure they will figure it out if they want to implement it.

Maybe just 'Sports Club' then your like to add like up to 3.

Well the thread couldn't even stay constructive, neither can that forum. All that seems to happen is fueled arguments over football teams and how good there area is. Maybe it should be earned.

Well there is going to arguments with or without this, it just makes it easy to see who people support.

I suspect it will create more pointless -rep due to competition between teams..

Well if people act like a child then by treating them like one maybe things might go somewhere.

I can't see the incentives working and it's the select few who provoke people into arguments anyway. If it's such a problem section then I believe moderators are playing their part in it by not stopping the root of the problems. To be fair though in the past few weeks/months since the thread in Feedback the section has improved anyway, things in the past shouldn't be counted against it.

because adding it would be such a great reward  it isn't going to make people to behave "IF U DONT BE GOOD WE RNT GIVIN U TEAM SUPPORTED IN UR DETAILS, OK?!"
oh noes.

yep, I'm going to quit if you don't implement it :( :S Football is all about opinions, and things get heated there, try moderating it if you think people are childish there.

It would cut down on posts asking who they support, and i think its easier reading a post if you know who they support, so you can see it from their view.
Frankly I am against this, it really isn't anything personal other than it will add another query to the page in order to display this element.
I think we have too much of this postbit data which could really just stay in the users profile.

That's a pretty solid argument IMO.
