Who's going to listen to your opinion when you describe something as gay? You can't say "of course" it doesn't exist because you really don't know until you die, you might believe it doesn't but there is no definite answer, I believe there is one :)

Why are you a member of this forum when you believe discussions should not exist? :S I think you're missing the point of online forums, when you strongly believe in definite answers rather than discussion. If you want to learn about definite answers, remove yourself from forums and join Yahoo! Answers which would be more suited to your tastes ;)

It's a nice thought, of there being a heaven and in some cases it's nice to think about when someone has passed on and you think "Oh yes, dad's joining grandad in heaven. I wonder what they will be discussing." Otherwise, we'll just think "Oh, he's dead" and be gone with it.

I agree with Jen, there isn't an absolute answer to whether there's heaven or not, because nobody has died and came back to life. There is NO evidence that heaven does or doesn't exist.

Personally I think that there is no 'Heaven', but I may be wrong, it could. I'd like to think there is, but I doubt it.

P.S: The internet isn't 100% reliable, most people have taken answers from Google and have been proven wrong, so never assume something.

You don't want discussions, you want people to simply find out through Google, which makes no sense - where's the discussion in that? You've turned a simple discussion about an existence of something, into "People should search for answers on Google" :/

People are scared of the unknown about death so hope that there's an afterlife or a heaven to ease their fears. I don't think there's a heaven where people chat and meet up with other dead relatives and friends (just like Earth weirdly, which is far from heavenly!). Heaven is an emotion not a place and when Death comes, you will have that heavenly feeling where you finally leave the world behind with all its pain and insecurities. As you can see, I have a negative view of the world!

As buttons said though, we'll never know until it happens. The one thing I'd be scared of is that if there's a God but you were an atheist on Earth, how annoying would that be?! I'm agnostic, that's my excuse*!

Not sure, I'd agree it gives people comfort. Funny when the people who are like "science is the infallible truth!!" (hello Does God Exist? (http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=560870) thread) start going on about they believe in some spiritual afterlife though. I guess that proves how much of a comfort it is. Science tells us that when we die our bodily functions shut down and we cease to exist as a functioning human body and eventually as a corpse unless you're frozen or cremated or something. You didn't exist before life so why should you exist afterwards? Kind of pointless to rave about how omniscient science is then contradict it.

Problem is that that's all it is. Unless someone wants to provide scientific reasoning as to why you'd transcend life itself. It's impractical without being incorporated into a higher being theory.

I wouldn't say beliefs in an afterlife or reincarnation is really any different if people do or do not believe in a god, after all Buddhism holds no god character yet is still a religion with that sort of beliefs system.
Personally i hold all beliefs are generally quite equally in the irrationality since they are baseless in terms of evidence. Equally when the beliefs systems start conflicting with evidence they move from irrational to somewhat stupid imo. Tis a good about many conceptions of reincarnation, as in that it would be no different from simply ceasing to exist. Although some religions do hold you retain knowledge and experience from previous life, which does kinda add a point to the reincarnation.

No, I'm just defining people who can't grasp the concept of there being nothing there, therefore determining that "heaven" must (probably) exist as weak minded. I'm not saying this is a concrete thing, it's just my suggestion

And about the Michael Jackson thing, yes it is opinion, but if you analysed his statistics in comparison to other similar artists it's definitely not a frivolous opinion, whereas the existence of "heaven" most certainly is.
