Thinking about making a website as a project for over my summer holidays of 7 weeks. Currently, I have an idea of making a website which sells (un)coded layouts and also offers tutorials on creating graphics using photoshop or coding in dreamweaver etcetera.
Does anybody have any opinions on this? Would it take off? Names for what it could possibly be called? I know im not exactly the *BEST* layout designer or coder but im willing to learn over the next 7 weeks and trying my best to get this project to take off.

Well, if I were to base it around a community also which participated in user uploaded tutorials for different programs then I would gladly get a forum too. And if you want, add me on my email and ill get back to you on when the site gets launched etcetera.
Note; If any other designers/coders would like to get involved then id be appreciated. I had the idea that I could hopefully get a system as in this:
My website would have a "shopping cart" sort of script
Staff designers can upload their own pieces
Each purchase of THEIR layout, 90% of the proceeds would go to them.
Coders have access to a system in which people can send in their layouts.
A coder assigns himself to the layout and gives the sender a quote on the cost to code
User can choose to accept/decline the offer.
If accepted, the money shall be transferred first before the coder releases the coded layout.
Again, 90% proceeds go to them, 10% for helping run the site etc.
And then other sections with tutorials, forums and all that ;)
Whatcha think?

So basically if I sell a layout for £100 you get £10 for listing it on a forum? I would rather go elsewhere and get the full £100 really...

But if the website was to get popular for good quality layouts and reliable coders, wouldnt you rather list it on a well known website and get at least a good amount of money for it?

Well hopefully ill get the site ready in the next 4 weeks, as im going to be on holiday.
Ill get a basic page saying that the website will be coming soon and then I will hope to get it online fully 3 weeks after that.

If you get a phpbb3 forum then I will help with setting it up, modding intergrating e.t.c. I know phpbb3 pretty damn well... (I Spend half of my time creating websites messing around in phpbb3)
Also rather than a fixed %, you should do something like '2% and 20p'. If it gets busy then you wont need to much of people's money. It can always be ad supported e.t.c.

Are you coding this all yourself?
