It couldn't have been the charts, he hasn't had an official number 1 yet since he died, bulletproof was number 1 last week.

Michael Jackson - Man in the Mirror - Number 2 :( Beaten by Cascada.
Almost there anyway. He still holds the record for the most songs in the top 40 (13). Doubt anyone will ever beat that any time soon.

It's terrible frankly - if people are such devoted fans why don't they already have these records? Load of phoneys and tryhards tbh

not really. it was bound to happen. people may have got the records the first time they were released for all we know. also, a lot of people wouldn't have been around when he was at his prime, certainly not remember anyway and downloaded his stuff because he's been all over the news in the past week. i personally haven't downloaded any of his stuff over the last week or so because i have it already although i've listened to it a lot more than i would normally. would have been nice to see him #1 but ah well.

Black or White only at 25?
Fix.
EDIT: To be fair, Cascada's ETD is an awesome song. Don't normally like that kind of music but in this case I do.

They were on skynews and they played the clip where the male dj announced that man in the mirror was number one

that was hit40uk - not the official charts. we had this argument in college and that's the conclusion we came to. the real number one last week was la roux bulletproof with man in the mirrior #11 - i listened to it all

No no, people are re-buying all his songs and such for the pure fact to get him in the charts.

They're buying his songs because they're showing respect for him so they buy/listen to his records. I don't blame them, his music was so damn good.

It's the singles charts which are in order of the top sales for that week. Cascada got something like 61,000 and MJ got 56,000 for the top 2.

yes, anyone who doesnt believe this is in denial.
He throughly deserves it to be honest
id reallllllllly like a good explanation for this one, cause i dont see how dying makes you deserving of a bunch of songs on the billboard charts (which also don't have much relevance).
but yeah its true, people are just jumping on the bandwagon. if michael jackson was that important to these people, they would have had his albums already. its not people buying second copies of his albums. i dont care how big of a fan you are of anyone, no one buys a second copy of an album, even if it is to "get him back on the charts."

To be fair I've been listening to the cascada song for the last 3 days and I love it, so I can't really begrudge them for getting #1. I have to say I expected MJ to get it though!

buncha fakers/followers/wannabes. bet they dont really appreciate it as much as his long time fans. its just because he's the current hot topic (thanks to his death). they're listening to his songs & 'appreciating' it because its the 'in' thing:rolleyes:
Plank

Of course his sales are going to increase because he has died, and more people are going to listen to his songs. The same has happened with all big stars, including Elvis. I don't see why people are portraying it as such a bad thing. If he is being advertised all over the media, then more people are gonna want to listen to his music who may not have done before.

how can you say that. for all you know all of those could be fans that don't listen to him that much. i rarely listen to my most favourite band ever, but that doesn't stop me being a long time fan
