View Full Version : Thinking of writing a habbo trade book...

I have been on habbo since 2002 and in that time I have got quite rich and then lost the fortune then got rich again and so on. I know how to trade and I have a lot of knowledge on the subject.

I was thinking if it is possible to write an ebook on habbo trading and sell it? Is this legal because really I'am selling my knowledge and not anything that habbo 'owns'? Also if I was to write such an ebook would anyone be interested in it? I have read around the forums and some of the tips I would be selling are not knowledge being given on forums and yet they work very well.

You'd need alot of time on your hands and really know what you're talking about, you would also have to constantly update it so it well didn't become out of date LOL

There's playing a game and there's being addicted to a game. You my friend are addicted!

Anyone who writes a book about Habbo imo needs to go outside and get some fresh air.

What a stupid idea. Your book would become outdated within weeks since prices change, new things are released, etc. Playing since 2002 doesn't mean you're an expert trader; you even said yourself that you made a fortune then lost it a few times therefore how can we trust that you will give us the right advice and we won't just lose all of our furniture.

I agree with this. It would take ages to compile a trade book and you'd need to change it all the time. If you have so much time to do it, feel free, but it would get really boring.

I know I wouldn't read it. I probably would read the title then laugh in disbelief over the fact someone writing a book about trading.

Thanks for the responses. So it definetly not illegal then? Thats my biggest concern getting sued.

Also to the person that said I would need to update the values every week well I disagree. I would be giving readers proven methods to help them work out which rares are going to drop or rise in value and when so no need to really update values. Also some rares are ALWAYS popular no matter what.

To the people who say I need some fresh air and are addicted. You are probably right I do need to get a life however I have a lot of spare time at the moment after finishing school so I could easily write a book - 10 pages a day - in no time. Anyway since 2002 I have not been playing solid - I do play on it for a few months then get bored and leave then come back half a year later.

Finally to the person who said I was not fit to give advice if I keep losing my furni (or something along those lines). The only reason I keep losing my fortune is through my own stupidity not through trading. For example getting hacked/keylogged/people guessing my pass to msn n stuff like that or even doing stupid stunts like betting all my thrones at a casino - yer done that lol. The thing is this didn't really matter because I could always go from nothing to being worth a few t in a matter of weeks.

Its habbo not the business world.

some rares are re-released or given in competitions making the values drop tremendously, therefore you would need to update it.

I'm sure in the t&c's it says you can be banned for using habbo contents to make real life money, you may be able to bend it but if they see it you may be ******.

The book sounds bad, Do writing but write a story not a habbo guide -.-

Your best bet, would to be waste your life doing this eBook and get someone who owns a big casino or trade room on habbo to release the book in there name and just give them like 25% of what you get for letting them use there name. Sounds stupid but thats the only way it could actully work.

i don't think a single person would. unless you were an incredibly well known rich habbo. for example, (as much as this hurts me) if viennese was to make one, people would buy it.

Yet no other fansite have been for using their images. A disclaimer would probably suffice if he wants to continue with this 'trade book'

It could be an idea, but people have made some and put it on eBay
so maybe try to sell it on eBay

I think most people here are being pretty naive. I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean a book of rare values!!! He means a book basically offering tips and detailed strategies on trading to make profit generally.

He might use furni as examples but he'd just give them a value for the sake of the example in the given scenario he's talking about at the time. There wouldn't be anything that needed updating.

As for the idea itself, although "how to trade" may seem rather obvious I'm keen to believe there's probably a few handy tips I wouldn't know myself so given that the author knows what they're talking about, it could be a very nice idea. On the other hand, I'd never consider paying for it (even without the risk). Instead I'd probably expect such tips to be found in the guides sections of fansites. To be fair, once it's distributed, I wouldn't be surprised if fansites just reworded everything to use themselves anyway.

Nevertheless, good luck :).

You are forgetting that user is worth about 30hc - claims hes rich, go to his habbos 'casino' and he has a few pillows :\

Also you will end up banned if you sell on ebay.

Heres some tips for free if you are that bothered :P

Betting is a mugs game, dont bother with it.
Deal - betting might be dumb but if you deal in casinos and only play 13/12/6 you are more likely to win than the player. This is because the player goes first and they may go bust, before you even have to roll.
Once rich, buy thrones as cheap as possible, sell for more ~ Easy to do.
Buy bulk ~ Often cheaper.
Sell single ~ Makes any profit you got off buying in bulk.
Only buy rares in demand, or take risks and hope a rare becomes popular.
Make your own shop, demanding profit.
Buy HC's for credits, (cheap) ~ Then sell them for 1/2 credits more.
Play expensive Rare Grabbers!!! Very addicting, play throne ones! :D Sorry I am addicted to them!
Hope those tips helped :P

I do all those things already (except playing Rare Grabbers - never been to one of them lol). Most of that stuff isn't trading anyway :P.

But that is all you would see in a habbo trade book!

Basically they are noobs who have no lives, have never been rich themselves on habbo, and need to try something else ><

Who the **** would take Habbo seriously enough to buy a book on how to trade?? :\ Just write a guide and be done with it.
