Just thought i'd mention, the Motherboard + Processor would actually be cheaper if you brought the two seperatly? (only a few quid in it though)
Also, may wana concider a tv tuner card if your interested in playing tv through the computer on to its moniter?

My hypocrisy meter just exploded :(
Other thread appears to have been locked, i did quickly run over advantages of tv-card in pc, over useing a tv instead of a proper monitor in that, so quoted it below :p
If your wanting to use the Moniter as a TV, your best bets simply to buy a tv-tuner card for the pc. You can then use ether the bundled software or windows media center (bundled in vista/7) to play and watch tv as you please. Recording / pauseing and all the added extras can also be easily added at the software level with this method.
Only downside is the pc needs to be on to play tv, and you may end up with msn/skype going in the background :p
Short of that though you would have to buy a dedicated tv and use it as a moniter, rather than a monitor to use as a tv else it wouldnt come with the tv tuner needed to decode the signals its sent. For primarly pc usage though i'd recommend having a proper moniter over a flat panel tv, they support much nicer resolutions :P

What I was thinking about the hypocritisy bit :P I requested for the other thread to be closed, as it was starting to cause arguements :)
And I am not sure about the motherboard thing - comes out at a few pence different! :D
Thanks about the TV tuner card :) I am only trying to play TV on pc, as my bedroom is not big enough for a tv and pc :D

Well the tv cards do work pretty well, and recording/pausing tv is always useful, plus u can just have it running in a window while you do other stuff lol. Equally you could just get a biggish tv, and use the vga slot to run your pc on it as well as the normal tv functions.
Both work, but resolution/colour generally better with a monitor - can improve it a bit if you use dvi/hdmi for the tv (hdmi is backwards compatible with dvi, you just dont get audio through it)
For buying separate i was looking at the OEM processor rather than the retail one which could explain the slight price difference :P But as you said, it aint necessarily worth it as its still quite a small amount
Budget PSU still a no-no. It;s not all about how many watts it has. The brand is extremely important.
Snd considering you want to play some games you have still not chosen a better alternative to that graphics card?

Thats different to the last one Nick!
And I will look again for PSU.
Thanks for feedback!
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124736 - Any good?
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152506 - Same make, less watts. Little bit cheaper.

Yes, OCZ are reasonable. Not as good as the likes of Corsair or CoolerMaster, but definately cheaper. You don;t need 700W, 500-600W is plenty for your needs. eg http://www.ebuyer.com/product/127861

It's Monitor, hate to be a grammer Nazi :/
I think the 4870 has a 1gb, I have the X2 version (Twice as powerful) and I have had no problems with that so the standard version must be even better :P

Tbh I'd decide your graphics card then your PSU, if your only going to have a card that requires 1x 6-pin connector rather than 2 you could probably save yourself some money, aswell as this your motherboard only needs one 4-pin connector for the CPU power. I have a 700w PSU (It's the OCZ GameXSteam) which runs my 4870 (2x 6-pin), a DVD burner and 2 HDDs, aswell as powering the motherboard and CPU obviously, which requires 2 4-pin connectors. So unless your planning on using more devices than this (and even then you'll have plenty of spare connectors) you probably won't need anything much more powerful.
In regards to a graphics card, depending on what monitor/TV your planning to use, you probably won't make much use of the full 1GB. I'm running my 512MB 4870 at 1920x1200 and FPS on TF2 doesn't drop much below 90 running all on high with 8x AA. I'd probably say anything at or above that resolution you might begin to benefit from the 1GB. With that been said, you haven't really specified what your demands will be on a graphics card as a standard recommendation for gaming and not clearing out your savings would be a 4770.
Your case also comes with a 450w PSU, not sure if you noticed that but that's somewhere you could possibly save money if needed by getting one without. Don't take a case as less important component though, last thing you want is to put all your shiny new components into some aluminium rubbish, cheaper cases tend to come with little or no screws/standoffs which can be abit of a pain if you don't have any laying around, they alsolack the high quality of that from respectable manufacturers'. Take a look at Cooler Master, Antec, Asus, Silverstone and Lian-Li (if you have that sort of cash :P) had my last two cases from Cooler Master and have been very pleased with both.
I can already see someone replying to this with corrections but that's my input :8.

I saw him say 'Moniter' but he has been too much help for me to pick :)
Thanks again!

Yeh I know the case comes with a PSU but I can sell that one on :D I'll think about the pricing too. The reason I am looking for a powerful graphics card is, I do not want to have to buy a new one every year, as games become more demanding :)
