Some files that are used by cutenews/wordpress should be writable to the script. You can do this through your FTP, using the CHMOD command. The CHMOD command might be found under properties or permissions to.
Once you have found the option, there is probably a text box with a number in it (often 644) You can change this to 777 to set the right permissions. If you can't find the text area, there are probably 9 check boxes. If so, check all of them.

:/ its not a very good idea to always set things to 777 as that means the public have full rights to exicute a file

Well if ppl are asking you then get them to read the Read Me file next time ye? if you cant CHMOD things then quit whilst you can.
