That reminds me, I start my job tomorrow. :eusa_wall
I suggest that you ask family, or friends if they know if anyone's offering employment.
mcdonalds.
don't actually hire "anybody".
one of my best friends is an assistant manager at a mcdonalds and he hates it, but says they barely take anybody on.

You put the right phone number down correct? (I know somebody who passed in applications like EVERYWHERE, and then she realized the reason why she wasn't getting called was she put the wrong phone number!)

I work at WH Smiths who are really close to going belly up so they arent hiring all that much in any branch. Saying that I'm leaving soon so if you fancy coming to Wells on a Sunday morning to take over from me your more than welcome!
I agree with others in asking family to look for connections, one of my jammy friends who didnt even look for a job got one at Waterstones cos his mum knew the manager. Im not bitter or anything but his pays £7+p/h and has a standard 7 hour saturday shift plus offered additional sunday hours :@

Its because of the credit crunch :(
I was lucky and got a job at a shop I used to do a paper round. Just try like everywhere even if you dont like the place. McDonalds pay isn't as bad as people say it is and free food :D

Try places around the area of your city, rather than the city centre or something, like I'm sure there's other local shopping areas rather than your city centre. They are more likely to have jobs or offer jobs as less people apply.
Just an idea/suggestion.
