Hello,
I have been hired to do a pubs website,
and so far so good.
But when i came across the special of the day
Because its a daily special the website needs updating daily.
The owners and staff will not have a cue how to do this.
So then i thought about something like twitter,
Like;
They send a sms with the days special and then it comes up on the website.

Could anyone help me how i could do this for free, or very very cheap

Thanks
Tom!

Well, why don't you use twitter then? Just create a specific twitter account for the pub and then give the owner the login details, tie the account to his mobile number then he can either update it using the website or by SMS (or mobile website).

You could use Richard's code that he posted to then grab the latest tweet which would then show up on the site where you wanted to.

I was already doing this but it would be better just as a normal SMS, no though anything like twitter but i think it will just have to do :D

Thanks

You'd just setup a Twitter account for the pub, add the owner's mobile number to the Twitter so he can text to it..

Then just pull the latest Tweet as the special from his XML feed.

Wouldn't be free to do, you'd probably have to arrange it with a network and get it hooked up to a database, then use php gets. I'd just use twitter, as a text feed, and it will sly its way into the content

Good luck with keeping the formatting with that.

Good luck with keeping the formatting with that.

Do you mean using the twitter texting solution?
Becuase if so, I wrote a bit of PHP (posted in a thread) and all it does is grab EXACTLY what twitter has stored using the XML feed?
