Opinions of the new Rare Sprites

As you may have seen, the normal rares on Habbox have new sprites! We have changed the sprites to the larger BETA sprites. We want to know what you guys think of the change. Do you like the larger sprites?

Sorry, they are tacky - well not all of them, but most, the monoliths look stupid because they are down :| :|. The fans, ice cream machines, dragons + more look distorted. Just overall, imo, they look worse. Sorry!

I'm just glad to have them all loading now, could really care less what they look like tbh. As long as I know what it is.

That's Habbo's fault as that's how they made/display them! Nothing to do with us :P

Much better, we have no option with this as when new supers come out we wouldn't be able to get the small sprite, unless buying it ourselves. It is not our fault some of the sprites look a bit fuzzy, that is how Habbo have them. Everyone on my list on the hotel itself has said it looks much better, had no complaints. :)

I dont like them, though i dont like new habbo at all so probs why. Maybe would of looked nice thumbnailing the actually item. Then on hover showing prices, des and the item in full.

I personally think it's a great change and the larger images make the rare look clearer - some of them may look 'distorted' but that's nothing to do with us, that's Habbo's fault! Remember, we are voting on the image size you prefer - the small or the large and not based on your opinions of the distortion/quality Habbo made them in, or on your opinions of the Habbo BETA overall!

You say its down to Habbo, but surely you could keep the old fans + dragons because they are all released aren't they? (Not sure about ICM) - They way you could get a 'new super' old sprite is by trading - which I'm sure wouldn't be too hard.

Why would we of kept half new and half old?
The images have been poor quality/haven't even worked for months, years - no one has had a problem with them.

Theres not much difference is there and its not half its like 3 items :P? Surely no ones going to that bothered if you changed them... also, people did have a problem with the sprite not working.

Hmmm, considering what the rare values is used for, and is usually used for quick referencing when trading, I would of thought the smaller the better so more can be shown on screen at one given time. I didn't think the small ones made it harder to see what item was which, unless you're as blind as a bat. They are pretty tacky though, Habbo never have put the time into anything like that ever since they monopolosized!

This was once done in the past and the quality of the image was not good at all and we had to change it by getting it from a room. Infact, sometimes they don't even fit the whole thing into the trade box, even with the small size!

To answer to finding the new supers via trading, its incredibly hard to find certain supers when their given out, let alone get the owner to put it in the trade box.

Indeed it is, and we are discussing the topic on a forum which is for opinions. It is good that your questioning it, because we can then explain why its better and easier with the new sprites, and also means we can get rares up faster when they are given out.

I am trying to explain it, we didn't change over 200+ images and spend over six hours on them for the sake of it. You have posted throughout this thread and you seem pretty interested in it and eager to discuss it, therefore I discussed it with you, I wasn't on the attack. :P

Anyway some of Sulakes new images are a bit bad but this isn't the fault of Habbox, and the images on Habbox have been bad/discoloured for a few years now as Habbo changed the colour/style of a few rares over time.

Before they trade they could see the item in the room, and the question still remains how would Habbox get hold of images of very rare super rares?

You'd think so, I remember how hard it was years ago to get sprites of new rares and that was when they were on display. Also in the trade box, when you hover over the item it comes up with a large image, which is the same as the medium sized ones now on Habbox Normal Rares page but just slightly larger, so no one could get confused with that.

I said on another page, that in the trade box, the sprites aren't always to their full quality. Some of the old smaller images don't even fully fit into the trade box.

From someone who hasn't played habbo for years, they look fine to me! I can't see any difference tbh except some of the colours are a bit different :P

Just as a side note, after everything that happened a couple of years ago the holoboy, samovar and throne are now in the supers section?! Amazing how things turn out :P

It's my opinion. I still prefer the pics in the trade box (the smaller sprites) to the larger ones. The large ones don't fit in with Habbox.

Like I don't really see why the "Planet of Love" is super small yet they made the "Snowstorm" sprite super tall. I changed the images to see how they looked as well as get the opinion of some. The vote looks split.

It was me and if you have a chat it will probs end up being me who changes this ha unless they add it into the new RV panel.

I dont like them either, alot of the images look silly as the lines merge and things like that. Also, the larger pictures mean you have to scroll alot further which makes it harder and longer to find and compare values. The old images are still avaliable on BETA so I dont really see the need to change. In addition to that, its alot of hard work for the RV's to actually get the images or others to get them for you. It, to me is unnessacary.

All I can say is that it does indeed look tacky with sizes all over the place and not as neatly lined up taking up too much space. The old ones are much better. Also, couldn't you just get the smaller images out of the tradeboxes, well unless it's a new super that no one is trading then you'll have a problem.All in all, I think with some hard work you can get all images in small size like before.

Yup, the normal rares are being a "test bed" currently for some different things. I have some other ideas that I am wanting to put to the Supers as well as the normal rares :) Expect some new things to come :)

I would just like to take this post to lol at the who ever repped me and they comment you left. This thread is about OPINIONS if you cant read, I gave mine. Also if you look in the poll you can see that I did vote so your comment is invalid. Again, if you actually look there is not both a 'yes' and 'no' selection in the poll but a 'eww' so if you use a little sense you can see that I have given my exact thoughts which 'you' wanted.

Just to clarify, I dont like the new sprites and think they should be kept the same. :)

I have to say I hated them the first time I saw them. But I understand it's how Habbo have them (moving a step backwards as usual :rolleyes:) and I understand Habbox have to use them because of future rares that don't have small sprites (or whatever Undertaker said :P).

But yeah, the Monoliths being down is stupid. That's the main thing I'd say.

Nothing personal but we are NOT voting on the distortion of the images or the way they were made. We are voting on whether you prefer big images, or small images!

Erm, I'm sorry but this has got to do with voting whether they look tacky or not? :S - Look at the options it says "THEY LOOK TACKY - GET THEM OFF" therefore you are totally wrong and -repping me for 'fun' really?

Thanks for that Harry, the larger images are distorted which is what I was saying so no I dont like them. If people look in the poll they could see that I gave my opinion and replied in the poll lol.
