Okay so a few of you may now know that me, HHGS.net, Cixso (sp?) and Dom-C are due to take over Habbosoft in the next coming days.

We are totally rebuilding the system from scratch and are adding a new layout to the site. Therefore we are needing a PHP coder and a graphics designer.

Please PM me with your application and I'll get back to you :D

Coder:
What languages can you code?:
How long have you been coding?:
Any examples?:
Any experience?:
What do you feel you could bring to Habbosoft?:
Why should we choose you?:

Graphics designer:
Examples of your work:
Why should we choose you?:
What do you feel you could bring to Habbosoft?:

Cheers!

I assume the developer gets a good % of the profit from the sales? :)

Nope ;)
All the php developers don't get paid, its free work.
Although if we are wanting something like a room maker (COUGH) then we are willing to discuss terms with the developer.

So the developer builds something for free and then you sell their work? Fair business, lol.

We aren't forcing them to work or anything, they are pretty much just building a portfolio.

Fair enough, I really don't understand why someone would offer to do it though.

Because its all about learning to code, i mean obviously some of the owners can code but i can't code much and there is way to much for just me and Luke, plus the fact that some things like room makers (COUGHHHH) we cannot make.

But if you want to learn, you build it yourself and then you can sell it yourself aswell if you want to make some £. It's just stupid to build something and then give it to someone else to monetize it so that they can make some cash :S

No because there is way too much work, we are offering coders who want money to release paid addons, although this isn't a final decision.

Doesn't make any sense. You only want coders that are very experienced, but the only incentive you're offering is basically getting more experience.

Of course all staff will get a % of the sales we make from licenses. As of now, we don't have the funds to pay developers to build the system. I could build it all on my own but it would take me 3x as long if we had no other developers. The opportunity is quite cool as it gives people the chance to progress their skills, and see the final product that they helped to build.

Neither do I...

Are you not offering them ANYTHING at all? Lol. If they wanted to do work for their portfolio they would make their own?

Not hating on you here btw. Perhaps offer a one off payment after they've finished?

It's your project, so ignore me. I'm just wasting time by typing this :P

That's a bit silly, you want someone who is very experienced, yet you want this to be a learning exercise in a way. I hope that what Excellent says is correct because, if its not then you are going to struggle to find developers

Even if what below is true, you are still going to struggle. A good developer will want paid a reasonable price, a small percentage of the profit from their own work isn't going to cut it. Why don't they just create a rival system and just take 100% of the profit?

Just my two cents really, but I wish you all the best of luck :)

Just my two cents really, but I wish you all the best of luck :)Maybe I over emphasized the very. We are looking for experienced coders as it would be silly and stupid to hire someone who has been doing PHP for a week or two. As said, all coders will get a % of the sales we get from licenses :)

Well if your asking for VERY experienced, the likes of dentafrice and invent are obviously going to be your target.

Good luck with it however.

Not necessarily. There may be people on this forum who are more experienced than you think.

'The likes of' suggests people such as that. Not specifically them.

I meant people you'd have no idea were actually decent at anything, but anyway.

I know how experienced the people you mentioned are so your post has no relevance.

Absolutely correct, yes. Anyway, I do believe that HabboSoft has found one willing coder.
