View Full Version : Macbook Pro
Right, been researching about this notebook, and then noticed the price. Now I'm not fussed about the price, however, if there are other options, I'd opt for them.
I've been looking at 13" model, and it's £899 from apple store. However, is there a cheaper place to get them, and if so, where?
And another question; A member of my family are at University, how much of a discount do you get through uni? (Does anyone know), 'cause I cannot browse it from home...
Many Thanks
Luke

I believe if he buys it he would get loads of discount (so -> almost free) iPod touch.
10% student discount and I think it's somewhere between 13-15% uni discount (I can't remember the exact figure).
I got my 13" Aluminium (late 2008 model) off eBay a couple of weeks before the new 13" Pros were announced. The model I have was £930 new from the Apple store and I paid £670 for it on eBay second hand but in pretty much perfect condition.

Saw the iPod promotion, looking for an iPhone to go with the macbook (not me buying :P) though, so, probobly not get that.

Was looking on ebay, but I want the new model in new condition (Picky, imo.)
And hmm, 15% is about £770 or something, which is pretty good xD
Thanks Guys!

These are the prices of the MacBook Pros on the Apple Higher Education page. When I bought mine in store I got 14% off the MacBook and AppleCare for £47. All I needed to get the discount in store was my University ID.

You could also look at the Apple refurb section, thats where I got my whitebook from and it was practically brand new but it didn't come in a shiny box.

I ordered my Macbook with it. No questions asked :)
Anyone know (if any) how much the APR is on the 36-month payment options? I'd really like the entry MacBook pro, but can't afford £750 (however much w/ student discount) in one lot.

Typical 15.9% APR.
So that's £895.68
Wow, only £24 a month, very tempting.

Just give them a ring and ask... They might do you a special rate or something because I have seen things like 0% for first 12 months bounced around... Let me know what you find out because I might buy a Mac Pro doing this if it doesnt work out too expensive to add to my Apple collection =D
