I bought a ring from Egypt, from a Thomson Cruise boat actually, and it is gold and silver. The middle and the whole of the inside is silver, and the edges and hieroglyphics (which spell my name) are in gold.

Well my mum payed something like £54 each for them, as she got one with her name on also, but the trouble is it's making my finger green.

I could swear it's not fake as he gave us this card to prove that it's legitimate and such so I was just wondering can a ring give you a green finger if it's not fake, or is it definitely fake?

Gutted if it's fake but I don't care, It's not going to stop me wearing it. Just the fact that someone involved with the Thomson company lied tut tut.

It is a little tight but not to the point where it can't come off. Oh and I did try Google but nothing like that came up with what I was typing in lol.

So it doesn't mean its fake then it's just reacting with the chemicals in my skin then?

+Rep for the help and link anyway.
EDIT: Gotta spread.

Usually really awful quality rings make your finger go green, like something you'd buy at TopShop/Man.

I think either cheap or fake metal makes you turn green. My watch is silver and it does that but it's not fake so maybe your ring just isn't solid gold :3

Fakes will yes because they're generally made with copper, but the genuine article can do it and it's easy enough to stop it. Basically the stuff they use to treat the metal is often left on (I have a silver ring which turned me green at first) and all you need to do is get some brasso or something like that and polish it properly. If it's still making you green once it's been done up like that then you should worry about it.

Also if it's a fake the gold sheen will start to disappear, so you can tell by looking at the ring too.

I once had a gold chain that made my neck turn slightly green. I'm sure it was real, I'll google this.

Paint the inside of the ring with clear nail varnish. That stops your finger from going green.
