Taking ages to load and also it asked me to install an add-on, when I went to install Firefox (3.5) told me that no suitable add-on's were found. Is that a problem or not?

Yeah, it will then say internet explorer cannot display this page, but the radio continues to play to great annoyance.

I really don't like it. Totally ruined the orange theme for Habbox, there's a massive white gap above the content, (probably where the radio stats meant to be) took ages to load and I hate the navigation and banner :( I much preferred the previous layout, sorry to say I'm disappointed.

I think it's going in the right direction, making it look more modern. All the old layouts have been pretty boring and full of rectangles and stuff, but now we have curves:D Except the coloured navigation which i hope gets changed soon COUGHkeelan.

Although there is a new skin the layout of its still the same and pretty old, I think the navigation should hav been at the top under the habboxlive box to make the look more modern. It would then leave a wider space for content on the site which is good for, long content and things like the RV's pages. And ye, like Jake said, the coloured nav tabs are horrible.

Apart from that, Keelan did a brilliant job on the design. Well done to all involved.

I think it was going to be up there at one point but then the limes changed their mind. Having the content area stretching the whole page would look bad imo. those with lots of writing would look awful

someone did try there werent very good, also tried all sorts of banners but we couldn't get anything to look good so we released with original placeholder and hoped we would get some feedback and ideas, which we are :P

They don't look all that good either... Habbo close-ups are rarely any good, and the image should be something that looks official from Habbo itself, rather than an alt verging away from the typical style. A cluster of things that make up Habbo could work, or just too Habbos having a conversation :P

Maybe the radio player should be JWPlayer or something (hidden of course) so that people don't need that Firefox plugin and it's cross-browser compatible. You could just edit the current play and stop buttons to work with JWPlayer and set it to autoplay.

Maybe the radio player should be JWPlayer or something (hidden of course) so that people don't need that Firefox plugin and it's cross-browser compatible. You could just edit the current play and stop buttons to work with JWPlayer and set it to autoplay.

I assume the current radio player is in a frame? If so, just replace it with that, and use JWPlayers SENDEVENT (I think it's that) function to stop/play or whatever it is you do.

The navigation seems to be an arguing point, some people like it and others dont it's one of those funny ones. The blue footer should have banners moving along it - that just hasn't been fully completed yet by the looks of it.

Yeah the two Habbo's is another thing we're not 100% sure about. As for the rotator that is going to be a site rotator for a range of banners and its not the same Habbox banner, it was just a few different Habbox banners rotating (for the time being), I guess. :P

I'm glad many of you like the change. Personally I feel it's a big improvement on the last layout. We'll do our best to correct the problems which most of you seem to agree are ruining the layout.

The big talk of Version 5 is that? It's crap. I prefer the old one.

The navigation is just pure awful. The blue footer is awful. The 2 big habbo's in the header spoil the design big time ans the login navigation is just awful.

Again I respect your opinion if you do feel the layout is awful however as commented the blue footer will be used for scrolling banners and the 2 big habbos may be reconsidered and changed, possibly. What is awful about the login navigation? Fair enough if you dislike the actual navigation - that was something that was debated during the production stages and another thing about the layout that could possibly change now we have actual feedback. However you've only mentioned a number of minor issues really that can be corrected. If some of these were changed do you think the layout would be no longer "awful" or are there other elements you dislike? What about the general style/theme of the layout? Anyway thanks for your feedback and hopefully we can act on it to improve the layout. :)

The news story videos is something we're working on. I agree the black square is not appealing - it's something I flagged up with Mrs.McCall only a number of days ago. Myself and the News Department are working hard to improve this design so it has a nicer feel and fits in with the layout.

I think the rounding off is a good point actually to keep everything looking the same style. As for the numbers at the bottom that's another point - I agree that should be looked at.

Once again we're going to be changing the banner rotator in the coming days as well as considering what to do with the Habbo heads which you (and quite a few others) have disagreed with as part of the design. Hopefully we can try to improve the layout considerably for you guys. I'm glad you like the navigation and I do see your point when it comes to having to scroll down to get to it. :)

It's good that you think the layout is an improvement on the old one - that was our most important goal anyway. Thanks for some really helpful feedback.

I think it's better but it still looks very much like v4. I haven't had much of a look around but that is my first thought. I think as time goes by and more things are added and taken away then it will be much better but it is definitely the right thing to do to make the site feel fresh :)

You could have a video instead of the heads because personally I think it just ruins the site. I'm not a fan of the flashing banner changing every second, I think you should settle with one banner and keep that for now

More animation! Although there is some - I think it would be more attractive with animation here and there. The blue is too dominant imo and it isn't as attractive as orange can be, I think the blue should replace orange and orange replace blue. And orange is a pretty universal colour so it works with a lot of colours.

Yeah like Wootzeh says, if you click pause on the radio it just comes a new window with nothing there and doesn't pause. So annoying ;_;
mm. I liked it when I first looked, after inspection (and having to mute my speakers and turn off my own music) I don't really like it. The navigation is actually good for a change I'll give you that, I like the banner although I'm not too sure on the boring blue background, the forum and radio bit are really nice. The moving advertisements are a good idea for the forum and habbox's twitter but the rest just looks bland and boring. I wouldn't know what to suggest but I really hate the whole orange scheme, it's an awful colour. I just think the colour and presentation of where the articles go are boring but I've always thought that. Good job though.

Hmmmm.. Few bits I like and a few I don't. The main thing I think that is making the whole layout look bad is the Header of the page (banner/news rotating banners/user system nav bar)

The zoomed Habbos and banner container/speech box don't appeal to me tbh.

The nav bar for the user system stuff looks odd. Maybe have the input boxes rounded like the search box? The 4 icons look odd there too.

The rest from the header down looks good.

Yeah that thumbnail was made by me (I am NOT a graphic designer in any way hahaha) and the software we're using is awful. We're trying different things out at the minute because it's easy enough for me to navigate through different software because I am a computer geek but for News Reporters especially Trialists, I have to find something that is easy to use. The next line thing was an issue for me too because I type fast but not bloomin' fast enough... plus I have to try and remember what the story was about (especially if it includes names).

As OSH said we're in the BETA stage with 'New News' so look at for more updates. What do you think in general though? If we were to get better video software... do you like the direction News is going in?

I hope everyone is enjoying the direction news is taking. I think we have to do something better than text in the generation of Twitter and Youtube (we currently incorporate Twitter in some reports). I would love some other ideas/feedback too.

As for the layout, I too majorly dislike the two habbo heads... looks like a communist russia propaganda style banner haha but the Habbox banner in the speech bubble is nice.

The colours of the whole thing and the Nav I really like too. Very good work.

Out of interest does habbox use APC at all? As the server always seems to be crawling along when i access habbox. APC is basically just an open source php module that caches the op code so the server doesn't have to reinterpret the php source every page load - aka dramatic speed up if your processor is busy.

Jin turned a cache system on but i also think he looking for something better to cache the site, we also use Joomla's cache which helps with the js, css and the content. Jin speeded it up alot last night by trimming the queries down it loads a lot better now. Good job we didnt implement all my fancy web 2.0 features otherwise we would of all been dead by the time it would of loaded.

Yep always been orange, blue and yellow but with joomla we went a lil off track especially with v3 eww lol.
