Fan site ideas.

Would have ut it int he other section but seeing as is anime based put it in here,

So im thinking about building a fan site for One Piece, since there seems to be a lack of them. im wanting to build it like http://www.daizex.com/ but im on the planning stages at the moment and deciding what features and stuff to have on the site.

So if you were to visit a site of a series you like what would you like to see? what features would you want.

So far ive been told to add
A Forum, Episode/Chapter Guide, Dvd Guide, Game database, Panda Man Guide, Music database, Film Guide, Character Bios, Amv Page.

So i dunno what else to add. so any ideas?

Im thinking of opening a dub and sub site, TIll take ages to get all episodes and upload them or like put a box and video on the site,

no, Ill post up links for people to download them when they are released but thats it. i suppourt Funimation with one piece. and they will be streaming episodes 1 hr after they have aired (tho US people only. need to find out how to by pass it again ) but yes. Im wanting to get a large user base and then contact Funimation. because they like to give sites dvds to review so i want OP dvds for free xD. But it needs to get popular tho.

and i wouldnt. they episodes will just get taken down where ever you upload them. so youll be wasting time uploading them and reuploading them. only thing ill have uploaded to my site will be OP'S ED'S Trailers. And some clips. not full episodes.

Im doing One Piece. Been wanting to for ages. But the General Site could be another idea.. tho who would pay for the hosting etc. then who would actually be involved in the making and running of the site.

Plus the fact theres lots of general site so you would have to put alot of effort into it

There's enough of us to do it mate.

Obviously the hosting would have to be discussed, but you could assign each person a certain category in which they need to maintain - fanart, Openings, OSTs, reviews and maybe eventually turn it into a streaming site.

Could work tho no streams apart from opening endings. Just provide the links or torrents for downloads.

That would be great. I've never come across a site dedicated to anime openings and endings before, and I just realised today that the rs board on 4chan has loads of links to creditless openings and endings.

I also found another good download site that had links to a soundtrack I've been looking for for years! http://www.frameworkmx.com/ There is loads of stuff on there.

An anime music/j-music radio might be another good thing to add to the site. There doesn't have to be any presenters, just a playlist.

Yeah, most streaming sites don't host their owns videos. Just upload them all to a video site they won't get removed from and embed.

Try not to use MegaVideo, it only lets you view 72 minutes before waiting 1 hour.

True.. well i dno what to do. for my OP Site im just using youtube.

But for other series.. ill look around see whats best to use. see that would be a better site than a genral anime. If we did the OP/ED. then we can have lyrics/ cd single downloads etc. and then just have a forum.

I suggest going to like megavideo or veoh and searching for all the episodes or hiring someone for like $10 to do it :)

A streaming site would require a lot of effort though. A lot of streaming sites I used to use were all cluttered and messy and half of the episodes weren't working. There isn't really any need for more anime streaming sites though, theres already loads, and one site usually fills all of your needs.

Phoanime (http://phoanime.com/) is the best streaming site. It's where I used to watch Bleach every week until I stopped watching it. Nice layout, packed full with information, updated regularly, all of the episodes work, they're actually pretty good quality as well. Don't make a streaming site unless you know you can do better than them.

Well would only be openings and endings and have a page for each series so shouldnt be to hard to make it look nice.

Nope, My mates making me a site template and stuff. im just going with OP hes a bif fan of OP aswell.

Tbh only got started on it mayb 3 days ago. He's playing around with a few things and making me a template for VB. And im just collecting all the content. be alot easier if there was someone else to help with the content but meh.

Awh, but I don't watch One Piece. You should make a site dedicated to all on-going and currently airing anime or something. I've never come across one of those and people like to keep up to date and know whats new. :8

nah to many sites doing that and id rather focus on one. plus ill be wanting someone whos never read the manga before for a podcast ill be doing once the site is up and running

Nope decided on One Piece. One Piece is the best selling manga of all time and deserves a site to itself :) in the forum ill have other anime bits so yeahI'll add a gintama section to keep you happy lol.

but yes because its just OP i can add lots of stuff. where as if i was foing more series thats less op id be putting up.

- Guides [ Is what im naming them so ill be having guides on all sorts ]

- And im copying daisex with there "Manga review of awesomness" Ill be getting someone who hasn't read the manga and make them read it (discuss, thoughts, predictions) all sorts

thats my plans anyway. I could add in a gintama/op parody bit. but theres not alot of them but meh
