Hey

On my new CentOS install to get any kind of outbound or inbound network activity I have to run "/etc/init.d/networking restart" after every reboot, as you can tell this isn't very helpful when there is no keyboard connected! How would I stop this?

Also, to get to it it's using some obscure host name built off the MAC address of the network adapter, for e.g. to access Webmin it's "http://unknown-MAC-Address.home:10000" instead of something like "http://tomserver.home:10000" how would I change this (the machine hostname is actually tomserver.)?

Thanks

I would just put a startup script in there for the time being to auto execute it until you find a solution to your problem.
