The forum chat...

This topic has come up numerous times, but I feel it needs to come up again, especially with the recent issues with forum speed.

Anyway, the chat nowadays is never used, and i'm pretty sure it hasn't even worked for the past few months - correct me if i'm wrong! I'm happy the chat was bought, especially as the majority of forum users agreed to it, and obviously it was our choice that it was bought, but now it's been trialed and tested and obviously it just isn't right for this forum.

I'm not sure if there is a license that expires later this year or whatever, but if it does, there's not much point in renewing it. ;)

It was a once of license fee i think, also if its not been used therefore it cant really be affecting the speed of the forum

and it works every now and again i believe.

Fully agreed but it isn't going to happen bcause it was expensive.

I don't know if it slows the forum down or not. However, if it does it should be removed. Like you rightly said it isn't used, at all any more. At one stage it was used rarely now it's never used. Although if it doesn't affect forum speed then it may as well just say there because like Alex said it has all been paid for and if it's not affecting page load times then it may as well stay there and look pretty :P

I think we may be removing it at some point as frankly it is pointless. However we are holding off at the moment amidst a few other issues we are having behind the scenes at Habbox.

Something that can very much change the way we provide our services.

The new layout :P It wasn't exactly on schedule, came a little ahead actually.

What he said. It doesn't really slow anything down but there's not much point in keeping it. However there's a crapton going on which is going to be very important to the future of Habbox and Jin is taking two weeks off so most changes / updates to the site and forum you see will be at the manager level, not the greeny level.
