HxHD Layout

Hiya guys,

For a while now we've been deliberating over the layout of HxHD. We, as management, did take it as far as approaching a few HabboxForumers a while ago to help us design a new layout. We recieved a few layouts however after a while we found that people only really tend to complain about the layout severely when we've just changed back from a seasonal layout. We decided that seeing as this was most often the case, we would leave seasonal changes to an absolute minimum and see where that takes us.

After logging on today I found quite a few people are actually still not keen on the layout. Of course this may not go for a majority, so if you would care to take part in the poll, it would be very beneficial to us and we'll see at the end what we should do and if there is a big enough margin to warrant a change. This poll won't guarantee anything, its just to help us.

Pfffft, I thought this poll would be more specific to people who use the desk a lot and therefore know what it's like! But yeah I'll get a screenie up here once Ive restarted my computer cus its playing up.

It doesn't really matter at the end of the day, no lives are getting changed. Dont think thats been a rule for staff for ages.

ANYWAY, when you think about it... I'm not sure how much the layout makes a difference. Sure, a nice eye catching layout is better than what HxHD has atm but it serves its purpose. for example, i can think of loads of fansites that have better layouts and skins than habbox yet habbox is still a lot more popular than all of them.

you don't rly have the furni either and it's more hassle keep changing it when it doesn't make a huge difference. i don't care either way personally but generally i don't think it matters.

The desk was nice at first, but when you're in there and actually take a look at it, it looks really dark and actually quite empty.

There is no doubt about it that I have always prefered the older layout by nvrspk4 (see spoiler below).. it has the petal floor (which no other help desk has), and also relates to the Habbox Rare Values idea. Shrink the staff size in the old layout and I think it would be very nice.

I always thought that the items in nvrspk's HxHD were donated by Habbox members, and they were passed around the various different owners.. it all seems to have gone to waste by not using it, personally.

But yeah, if going back to those items is a no-no, then I'd like to see the desk layout changed every so often.. staff area to different sides of the room, chairs in different places, etc.

I have to say if we were to change the layout we wouldn't be going back to that.

I personally don't really see how a layout on Habbo really affects anything that much either, however my personal feelings aside its clear that some people are bothered by it so at least we can get public opinion and way up the pros and cons before we make a definitive decision.

Colourful, simple and make use of teh empty spaces, we know it is used as a slash party room too but the big spaces could have some rugs or something down, too plain.

I would like to have seen that choice. I dont think its the layout people still dislike its the dull, drab furniture used. Its meant to be a fun, loud, lounge/help desk. That just looks like a depressing confrence room.

I have to agree here though it is very weird that I had a discussion with someone earlier about the layout and this thread appears :P

Anyway the room is too dark and depressing, makes it look like a depressing place that you are normally dragged to (like my local doctor's). A splash of colour is needed but not too over the top :P

Wish I had pictures of the desk from DJ-3000 days. My memory doesn't bode too well despite being around then :S

Department donations are seperate - the ones Jess had would have been jrh's credits which he specifally said were to be used for just HxL. Or if a DJ donates then it's for her or hxl to use :p

This is before jhr credits, im sure if a you asked a dj to try and get donations only for Hxhd and told the listeners it was not for a competition you would still get a good bit of furni donated

What I meant by it is that this is hardly top priority when it comes to how we use donations, we would rather be putting them towards something big like the HxSS. Having said that, if we were to change the layout I doubt we will be going all out and extravagant so I guess its irrelevant.
