There is a lot of talk of teen pregnancy at the moment, BBC3 are currently running a lot of documentries about it and for years now it has been highlighted in the news.
We all we know of someone of our own age, younger or older that are still teenagers that are now pregnant.
I found out the other day that the tenth girl from my school year is pregnant. Now I left school three years ago, which would make me and these girls 19, which admittedly isn't quite as bad as a 15 year old girl becoming pregnant.
But the thing is I see myself as coming a long way since school. I'm just about to move to London and go to a top university, where as a lot of people haven't done much.
What is everyone else opinions on this matter? Are there people of your age that this kind of thing is happening to?

I remember this girl in my form who was off for months and then one day this card goes around and we go "What's this for?" Teacher says "congratulations for the new baby. She's had a baby girl." She named it something really stupid as well! lolol, I always feel sorry for them imagining them in school getting picked on cos of their name but maybe I'm just pessimistic.
Anyway yeah most of the time the teens can't look after themselves properly never mind a baby. Sex education in this country sucks though. "Here's a penis, here's a vagina. Class dismissed."

She's 15 she's going through a deep stage in her life right now. I think 15 is a good age to start a family because at that age you have enough pocket money to support a child.

Well a famous associate of mine named Cass Solis has just had a baby aged 15 and there are rumours that her sister Sally who is in BB5 at the moment might be up the duff too, it seems to be a common thing for sistazzz

I'm totally against teenage pregnancy and think it's one of the stupidest things a teenager could do.
One girl in my year is pregnant at 16 - her partner is some 19 year old in jail which says it all really. Also she isn't exactly a 'high achiever', so won't get many good grades this year and isn't staying on for further education - so I really don't know how she's going to cope, let alone get a job.

It's generally chavs bringing more of their spawn into the world so I don't think it's that great. Someone should sterilise the babies at birth so they can't carry on breeding.
yee think the first girl in my school to have a baby was end of year 8.
i seen that documentery earlier, how short r those twins?
Loads of people I know got pregnant at 16, it's ridiculous.

there aren't many at my school to be honest. i can only think of one girl that's had a baby, she's in the year above. she'll be in 5th yr (yr 11 i think?) and she's just left (comforting for the baby:rolleyes:)
Theres about 25+ girls that are either pregnant or had a baby or had a(n) abortion(s) at my school.

as long as theyre responsible & is financially stable, i think its alright for them to have babies. but teenagers these days are sexually active and im sure the rate of teen pregnancies will increase. its crazy because most of them wont take responsibility for it & will either go for abortion or give up their babies for adoption. my cousin is of the same age as me (19) and shes having her 3rd child now? she had her first when shes just 15. insaneeee. im just shocked thats all.

I agree, she obv. just did to for the attention  She thought her sister would be happy for her and they would become closer, which didn't happen. Feel sorry for the parents of the children they have to pay for everything and the 2 parents, 4 teen parents, their little sister and 2 babies living in a 3 bedroom house..

A girl and a boy I know went out for about 2 months (both just turned 16). She got pregnant and the guy didn't even know. Now he knows and so do his parents, he got kicked out of his house perm. He deserves it. He's a **** anyway. Infact, she's cheated on him and he's cheated on her.

In my school there were a few teenage pregnancies there was this girl who looked like a woman and looked really old because she smoked too much and she got pregnant. And there was this other Romanian girl who was in Year9. How can people let these things happen? Where were her parents?

One thing that always gets me is theres a time when we've all asked our parents "was I an accident" hopefully most respond with an honest no. What happens when the children of teen mums grow up? It won't be hard to realise they were actually an accident....

you'd be surprised. teens often plan their babies. i know where i live, it's almost a fashion accessory i swear, lol. you see all the girls strutting up to school with their prams at break and they're dead proud.

i've never even thought for one minute if i was an accident, my mum had 2 sons before me so i don't see why i would be :S and she's never said any of us were a mistake no matter how mad she is so i don't see how u can say everyones asked their parents that. + there's no way you could really say teenage mums don't plan their pregnancy because some might, maybe not for the right reasons but it doesn't mean their children are an accident, there are methods like abortion (which i don't agree with) which they can use to not have the baby so it's not like they're forced into having one and it therefore being an accident

ye same, the 2 in the year below that had kids are *****rs u couldn't even imagine them havin sex!!
everyone should be teenage parents
It's there choice, if they wanna get pregnant early so they have kids at a young age so where there kids are older they aren't too old, I say let them..
