It's not so much when making calls as far as I can tell, mine gets a little warm when I'm playing graphically demanding games. It seems most of the release day models where those with a few problems.

I used to have this phone.
I still have it and its still working had it for like 2 years :O

I should bloody hope so too! If my phone failed after under 2 years I'd be pissed off. I've had a motorola V547 (i think thats the number) since christmas 2004 and its still working except the battery life which is now under 3 days when it was around a week new. Still use it as a backup phone when I go somewhere I don't want to take my omnia.

Umm no they haven't? We have an overlay of a route as do you, but in Android 2.0 we are getting full FREE route guidance with voice, 3D style views and a very nice interface to the whole system for when you are driving.

You actually think that most Apps are 10mb?

Spotify - Can take almost upto 12GB of space (Maximum offline songs)
Tap Tap revenge - 200-300mb
Google Earth - It can't store all data in the RAM, it caches some of it on the SSD so around 80-120mb of cache space

I had 2000 songs on my iPod, that's 10.5gb, of course some people have a lot more.

Video Podcasts can take up a lot of space, particularly if you got a few for when you're abroad. So around a GB if you get just 10

Pictures - People love to share their pictures, perhaps up to 1.5gb

Add up:

20gb of Songs (Song Player + Spotify) - It could be more
400mb of Tap Tap revenge (Including songs)
120mb of Google Earth
900mb of GPS App (Found from Article of average size of apps)
1gb of 100 other apps
1.5gb of Vid podcasts
1.5gb of Pictures
25.5gb Total BEFORE ADDING FILMS

And that's without audio podcasts and by following your '10mb apps' (Most decent iPhone games are around 80mb mind) I actually have 900mb worth of apps and I don't have that many (Roughly 6)

So even when being generous it's only around 5 films to be honest :)

I like the chin, it's actually very nice to hold in the hand since the buttons are closer to your fingers and scrolling pages is very easy on the hands.

I was using Opera as an example, you're locked to good ol' safari, a monopoly, somebody in this thread said that more choice is good. You're locked to iPhone's Browser, Phone, Texting, music player (Except spotify)

Really? It took you 10 seconds? Even with downloading the software, applying patches, and rebooting the iPhone (My JB iTouch takes 15 seconds to boot fully). I jailbroke mine today and it did take less than a minute. Its literally download blackra1n, run it and youre done.. no patches, no other downloads. and if the screen breaks, you can still connect it to your computer and restore it. and if you say, well what if it breaks altogether, well by that time, apple wouldnt bother trying to fix and would just give you a new one.

I jailbroke mine today and it did take less than a minute. Its literally download blackra1n, run it and youre done.. no patches, no other downloads. and if the screen breaks, you can still connect it to your computer and restore it. and if you say, well what if it breaks altogether, well by that time, apple wouldnt bother trying to fix and would just give you a new one.

the texting part, im not exactly sure what youre getting at. Who cares if it does send it to the actual texting app? Its a text. It cant exactly go through a different provider.. (and i dont know if im honest, im happy with the way my phone texts..) and as for blocking phone calls, you can jsut ring up O2 anyway. Im not sure if there is an app, there might be, i dont know.

You make me laugh, hard. They would not go to the trouble of taking the HDD out, really they wouldn't. It did take 10 seconds, literally. Sorry, but did you just call a rickroll a virus? it is NOT a virus, and it won't affect 1% of jailbroken iPhone users, it'd be lucky if it affected 0.01%. You make me laugh, cause you haven't really thought any of this through, jailbreaking does not affect anything to do with the iPhone, all it does is take advantage of a floor in the iPhones bootroom, it doesn't mess with anything else, so really it's actually just as safe as a non-jailbroken iPhone, if not - SAFER.

Yes, we can get all those apps, either be it via Cydia, or AppStore, or even RockApp. Choice is amazing and only leads to one thing - the consumer benefiting.

I don't care much for phones to be honest, but who can say no to the T3 (http://awards.t3.com/categories/gadget-of-the-year/wildcard-entry-htc-hero) & Stuff (http://awards.stuff.tv/awards/gadget-of-the-year) Magazine Gadget of the Year and inclusive internet, oh and the Spotify app runs whilst doing other stuff so it beats an iPhone/iTouch. PS HTC Sense is awesome.

If he means he can listen to music while using other apps like browsing the internet then all I can say is that the iPod app (what most sensible iPhone users will use to listen to most of their music) can be run in the background while using other apps like the browser. Unless the iPhone user is hell bent on using the spotify app then I dont see a problem as the iPod covers it :S Spotify isn't really the most well renound app on the appstore and I don't think many people would turn down a phone because of that feature but you know ;)

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Even the applications you can get for the two platforms are practically identical. If someone threw an iPhone or a moto droid at me I wouldn't complain about either one.

and dude, iTunes > restore to factory settings > non jb phone, warranty sorted LOL.

Yeah, the quality would be quite good, mainly because it's so big and gets resized - but as the size of the lense is so small, it will be no where near as good as a proper Camera. :)

I have to say one of the most impressive things is how good quality the earphones are they give with the phone. They are those noise things, which get rid of people talking etc. Very, very good quality - especially for earphones that come with the phone :P
