I want a new hard drive, atm ive got a measly 40GB one lol.
I dont want to spend loads and loads of money on one but Pro-Alex said I can pick a 1tb hard drive up for about £50.
Anyone know best places to buy, either online or in shops.

I've bought from all, decent prices and haven't had a fault.
Yeah can get 1TB for quiet cheap, have a look at the sites above. :)

Ok, thanks guys! +REP
If your current drive is 40GB then I'd make the assumption that it's an IDE drive. The maximum capacity IDE drives are 750GB (as far as I know) which are fairly expensive.
There's also the issue of whether your case has the space to fit another hard drive or your motherboard can take another.

Maybe an ext would be easier?

That's about £35 I think, which is a pretty good price. :P
Oh crap o_O can only be shipped in the USA, but Amazon are reasonable with their prices.

If you're not particularly "computery" then yes.

Joe, I suggest getting an external hard drive. I know what you are like with computers!! Haha. :)

External Hard-drives can be alright.

Ive just pulled nine apart to check and the socket on the motherboard says primary IDE (mines 40GB aswell) but the HDD itself has no mention of IDE but instead says ATA.

ATA is IDE.
No way to get around that then?

Fact is, with externals its just a hard drive inside some casing with a USB interface chip on it. If you want to convert an external to an internal, just pop it out of the casing and slide it into ur compute. Thats what I did with my 1TB, saves me doing alot.

This is my computer is small, made from laptop components and the case isnt all that big.
Depending on how big n that it is then I may get one to go inside it, if not then Ill just get an external.
THANKS GUYS x
