Hello

My PSU is getting ANOYINGLY loud, so I need to change it ASAP. Although, I cannot order one now, and may have to wait.

However, i have a spare PSU with 300W on the label (my current is 400W).
Will 300W be enough to run the following for about a month;

2.2ghz E4500 CPU
nVidia 8500GT
1x DVD (i have 2 but will unplug 1 if necessary)
2 x HDD (sata)
and 2-3 fans.

Many Thanks
Luke

OH, and could anyone reconmend an inexpensive 400W+ PSU that is almost silent (amazon or ebuyer preferably).

+rep to all.

I'd say it should be fine because the components don't sound all that power-hungry but wait for someone who knows what they're talking about :P

You should just about manage it, the 8500GT requires 300w minimum, so you'll be putting some strain on that thing, just get a new one rather quickish.

http://ebuyer.com/search?page=1&store=2&cat=149&subcat=2588 <- Any of the 3 400w ones on this page at the bottom, I would recommend Corsair though.

its 500w, I know, dunno if they have a 400w version but this thing is literally silent, I don't hear a peep out of it honestly! Cheap as well :D

Here is the 400w version:

Although they are kinda the same price so I would go for the 500w :D

It should manage it, but I personally probably wouldn't. Depending on the PSU it might die within a few months due to being on the limit of what it can do.

ahahaha
ahaha
haahahaha
snore-

btw Yabber that 300w psu should do fine for now, only thing I would be worried about would be power being cut from the wrong components at the wrong time, like fans cutting out while the CPU is running.
