View Full Version : Okay... now im annoyed.
Basically 5 times taken back to DELL and countless times breaking my computer does not want to load up games. Whenever i play games it just turns off the screen and locks up. DELL said it was power supply (replaced it 3x) and it was a OS problem and having to buy windows vista again. As soon as my warranty ran out it happened again. I don't know why it does it, i can play wow/sims for about 3 minutes then it turns off the screen. I don't know what the problem is with it. This is my computer rating thing if that helps.

and i really wanna play wow to level it up before i start school (N) and i can not play games till xmas when i get my laptop ;D
thanks

It's obviously something to do with the GFX card (I think) ~ but I haven't got a clue hardware wise so just wait for someone else to come with more advice.
But I think it is GFX anyway.

BLA BLA BLA
Do you have a graphics card or is it intergrated with the motherboard?
as you can see, the 3.2 is shaded at the back, meaning something is wrong :)
If its integrated with the motherboard.. then it'll be wise to get a new computer, its its a graphics card on its own, then shouldnt be too difficult to get changed :)

No it doesn't mean something is wrong? It means it's the lowest score.

no actually it's highlighting the lowest subscore, which serves as the base score for the computer..

No, the darker background behind the 3.2 is showing you that the Graphics Card is the lowest subscore. Not overly sure what is wrong, but pretty sure that someone else will know.

With a Dell that is kinda hard since they use custom motherboards with the screw slots in different places. You would have to order the new motherboard via Dell if that was causing the problem.
Is this a Laptop or Desktop?
If it's a desktop then put a gfx card in (cheap one) and see if you can then play the games without any problems if that still doesn't work properly then keep changing bits until you find the problem?
It's a computer. and its intergrated graphics card. I don't have much money atm ;[ so i dont know how "cheap" graphic cards are :(
edit; the cheapest i can find is £40 on pcworld whcih is just down the road from me

Just a cheap card, add it to your basket and it goes a few quid cheaper. Free delivery is also an option but it's just easier to pay for the delivery

There should/might be a 6pin connector at the back of the card which you have to plug a 6pin cable into from your power supply.

And get charged outrageous prices? No.
You press DEL or an F key at boot (it'll tell you) to enter the BIOS, have a look around and look for the graphics output option.

If the motherboard failed it could have taken out the graphics card with it, could you try it in another computer?

I don't have any other computers.
The WOW files which i play off are from the harddrive that was from the failed motherboard computer. Could that cause it to crash?
